There are some really great ideas in all of your responses! Thanks to each of you for taking the time to put in your two cents!

April: That top is beautiful, and would certainly go well with other items in my closet, too, even in white!

harmonica: Thank you very much! I like the idea of something deep blue, but I don't think a blazer really fits my style. Too much structure and too many fit issues for this girl I will keep the color in mind, though!

Una: Thanks for the compliment! What a great inspiration! Her pattern mixing is a little intimidating, but something I aspire to One day! And when I was trying to decide on these, I totally had a little MaryK on my shoulder telling me "Buy them! Leopard is a neutral!" Not sure if she was the devil or the angel! And that sweater beautiful, but still just too "tough" for me. I wish I liked it for myself!

Diana: Oh! Green with leopard and my red hair? That sound awesome! And as an hourglass, I've always been afraid of oversized clothing, but I've recently started to dabble. It's tough finding the right proportions. I tend to look bloated. Or pregnant. Or like I'm wearing a poorly fitted shirt :-/ So I just keep trying. It a great idea here :-)

jayne: A maroon high low blouse! Perfect! But I'm not sure it would play well with the rest of my wardrobe. I'll have to go through and find more pairings to justify another addition to my already full closet!

Zapotee: That first picture is perfection! Definitely the cool, casual vibe I go for. The second one is great, but, again, the blazer trips me up. I'm a full busted, short and tiny waisted gal. Blazers are so tricky for me that I've just given them the boot, save a few cropped ones I wear with high waisted pencil skirts. Am I really missing out?

cciele: Man, you killed it with color choice and item! I just love turquoise, and the fancy sweatshirt is just the right fit for my style :-)

cjh: Great color suggestions! Olive and mustard are really wonderful pairings I'm not on the chambray bandwagon because of button front fit issues, but I might start the hunt again to pair with this outfit! And thanks for the "terrific"!

So, I guess I should style these bad boys up per all these outstanding suggestions and take some pictures!

Something soft, such as drapey sweater, cashmere even? Or the chiffon blouse suggested. If you like low contrast, pick a burgundy or dark green. If the white or cream doesn't bother you, go that way. Chambray would also work - but perhaps one with a ruffle or pearly buttons that doesn't look too masculine. Denim jacket that goes over a black top will make it more friendly than leather or black, but stays in the casual department. Try a rust, olive and mustard print scarf, black or rust top and an olive utility jacket.

The shoes in the picture also inspire me to suggest a soft cashmere jewel neck sweater or twin set for a true retro feel.

Other colors that might work depending on your skin tones and preferences: mustard, teal, raspberry, citron green, dark plum, pale pink or blush, rust, chocolate, mink or taupe.

Have fun - these pants are terrific!

I also like turquoise with leopard -- an oversize turquoise t, "fancy" sweatshirt (see Angie's blog), or tunic/sweater maybe?

I was going to say the same, as per MaryK, LOL leopard is a neutral. It goes with everything.
I would keep it simple as per the pics below, but I'm a minimalist

a cream, brown, or maroon (the color of fall) high low blouse or sweater is perfect for these. They fit great!

I love leopard with emerald green. Leopard with red is a fab combo too.

I think a flowy or drapey top (do you do Big Tees?) would be great here.

Congrats on your new skinnies! They seem to fit perfectly and your legs look really long. I like April's suggestion. You could also pair it with a pop of bright colour, like a bright deep blue or maybe orange / tangerine blazer.

I just got these jeans (I'm a HUGE leopard print fan), but I have no idea how to style them in a way that isn't "harsh", "trashy" or "edgy". I would never really use those word to describe my style. And while I think the black shoes and top look fine, they aren't really me. Black clothing isn't my thing, generally speaking.

I would say that my style is boho chic, flowy, soft, hippie-esque and dressy casual. More brown than black, usually cream over stark white, and I try to stay away from any article of clothing that's a close match to my hair color (the crazy orange red you see in my profile picture).

So, what say you, oh wise women of YLF?

Thanks in advance for all the awesome advice I know you'll have for me
