@Ket thank you for answering my wonderings! Sounds like the 16s are just not going to work anymore. Hopefully the 14s will be a good replacement.

I think the smaller size is going to work for you. If the 16s are so big they are falling off, then this is the size to go with, but do try the sit test and all of that so you don't run into the problem Jenni described. It can be so tricky with denim sometimes....

I always have (the same) issues with sizing up in jeans-and learned to go with the smaller when fabric is similar with the one you stated here-hope will be a good decision for you, too!:-).

Ket thanks! It is a Yay. I am happy to have lost a bit of weight because I can wear a lot of my clothes this Spring and Summer that have been on hold for approximately four years. Like meeting up with old friends :).

Angie, You nailed why I'm struggling with the bigger size. I like some neatness and tidiness with denim. I don't mind visual fluidity and I think that would be better. If these didn't have so much wear, I would consider getting the lower leg and waist nipped.

And yes, I do feel more pulled together in the smaller size! TBH, after 10 years of nonstop health issues and weight fluctuations, it does feel nice to wear a smaller size even if they're a bit snugger to start.

Will report back after a test sit and walk. :)

Ket, if the smaller size loosen up after a couple hours of wear, you'll probably prefer those. They make you feel more pulled together, I bet!

While I visually like the fluidity of the bigger size - the fact that they fall off is not good! They would need waist alteration if you kept that size. I understand how the bagginess on the legs might make you feel unpolished. Not as neat and tidy as the smaller size.

Make sure that the smaller size is COMFY when you sit and stride before you commit. You don't want them to feel too tight despite the fact that they are form fitting.

Let us know how the at-home road test goes!

Val MN, I considered that but decided against it for a few reasons. The fabric composition is 62% cotton, 24% polyester, 12% rayon, and 2% spandex. I would put it a on par or a tick down from jeggings' stretchiness. Also, despite being $100 jeans from Eloquii, there are size inconsistencies. I found this out when I ordered both pairs of 16s. They were both ordered at the same time, and there was a 1/8-1/4 size difference between the two pairs. (I should have returned them or ordered more, but it didn't bother me at the time.) I'm actually wearing the smaller of the 16s in photos. The larger pair of 16s are even baggier and larger. Another concern I have is my very narrow calves and ankles. The lower legs of the 16s have gotten proportionally wider and lost the "slim" feel to it, which really bugs me lol!

Lisa, smaller are comfortable enough. Honestly, the larger size is so large they're uncomfortable due to all the pant hitching I have to do -- even in public. (Worse for it being in public.) I agree about fabric! Leigh style actually is heavier fabric. The comp is a cotton/poly/rayon/spandex blend. So, it's thick but very soft. It behaves differently than traditional, more rigid denim.

Lise, thank you! And yay on your weight loss! (Assuming it's intentional and wanted of course Mine is desired but I know not everyone's WL is wanted.) I agree about stretch vs rigid denim. I had a pair of GAP curvy skinny jeans. They were made of 98-99% cotton, and only 1-2% spandex. They had body that allowed me to wear them as slouchy boyfriend jeans when they became 1-2 sizes too big. The Leigh jeans will never be BF jeans.

I'm going with smaller and glad that, so far, everyone is confirming it!

I say definitely the smaller size. In this style snugger is much better than falling off. I too love a 'real' dark wash but it is not a deal breaker. I have a pair that fits like the second pair since weight loss and I am editing them out. Also have had tons of wear and were purchased second hand. I agree with LISA that sizing up in jeans can work with rigid denim but not with so much with stretch.

For the larger size. If they are already wrinkled and you've just put them on, most jeans will continue to bag out even if only slightly. Then they will be even looser after a day of wear.

I vote the smaller size but only if they are comfortable at the smaller size. There's nothing worse than too tight fitting jeans.

I've found going one size up in jeans works best when the fabric is thicker and has a lot of drape. These look like they are not a thick denim, so the smaller size is best to my eye.

Jenni, I think I'm okay with them being a bit snug. I know what you mean about that cut-around-the-middle feeling. There is snug and then there is "I can't breathe, eat, or sit" lol! These are snug but they're not horrific. I've just been wearing such loose/baggy jeans for the last 6 months that I think the snug-ness will take a little time to get used. My weight is still shifting slowly too, so the 14s might be fit just right by mid or end of summer?

I like the smaller size Ket! Are you OK if they feel a bit snug? I edited out my previous pair of NYDJ jeans because they felt like they cut in around my middle and were uncomfortable, despite looking good.
These look good on you and the bigger size does look wrinkly, as you say, especially in pic 3. Still wearable.

Trying a new size of Eloquii Leigh Jeans. I feel like it's time to size down. I'm just questioning myself a little because I haven't worn snugger fitting jeans for several months.

Size 14, photos 1-2. I like how they feel overall. The lower leg-line is a lot better in this size. They actually look like a slim straight jean. The waist is a bit snug, but I have a feeling the waist will release some. The fabric comp is 62% cotton, 24% polyester, 12% rayon, 2% spandex--more give than cotton-lycra blends.

Size 16, photos 3-4. Lots of wrinkling and excess in the front thigh/hip area. They're comfortable, but they are getting really baggy. They're so large, I can easily take them on and off without unbuttoning them. :} They're wearing out, so not worth taking to a tailor.

The 14 is a bit snugger than I prefer. However, 16s are falling off. I think with it being a slim cut, snugger is better than falling off. FWIW, the 16s used to look and fit pretty close to the 14s. Just been a while since I wore true slim-fitting jeans.

Thoughts?

P.S. Only slight con for me is the color. Eloquii calls this a dark wash. I don't ha! It's deeper but It's a brighter blue than I prefer. (I like a warm, true dark wash, like was super popular in the 2010s.) I love the fit, cut, and quality enough though, to not quibble about the color.

P.P.S. definitely excellent quality. I purchased the 16s about 2-3 years ago. I've worn them at least 2-4x per week and the inner thighs are only now thinning. I'm impressed.
