Aren ‘t you going into fall and winter? If so put off any cropping until spring or next summer. Then see how you feel and if the trend is still for crops. Your dark jeans in #1 are my favorites.

I will give those cuffs a go Carla - they might work. I am long legged and short waisted but am partial to long lines in my clothing......but it is fun to experiment.

Thanks Firecracker. My temptation was the older mid wash pair too. But in winter these ones are likely to be worn on casual at home days or layered up so maybe long is better. I had in my mind that my second new pair of jeans was going to have a tuxedo stripe but impulse bought this mid wash pair. No regrets though!

And kind of you to comment on the resemblance. At the moment my hair needs a cut but it has been fun to wear it tied back for a couple of months especially through our hot summer.

Sal, these all look so good on you! It sounds like you're enjoying wearing your jeans long, so I would leave them as is. I especially like the shape of the new mid-wash leg and wouldn't crop those. If anything, after this winter I would suggest considering whether to crop the older mid-wash pair.

And a side-note: now that your hair is longer and pulled back, I see how much you remind me of my gorgeous, sweet and charming sister-in-law.

Thanks all for the compliments and advice. I will hold off for a while and see what happens. I won't crop the dark Garcia ones - they to my eye will be a good classic full length pair of jeans.

I went off cuffing last year on me for some reason so I will experiment again. The mid wash Nobody jeans were a pair I wore cuffed for the first year of owning them and then I wore them long last year.

Flares and bootcuts have been hard to come by here but if I see the right pair I would consider getting them. Lots of jeans options at the moment - stripes, colours, patterns etc but flares have been so fringe that I felt lucky to get this pair a couple of years back. I have to seize the day with flares though - not too hot, wearing a low heel, not rainy etc....

Both new pairs look great on you, Sal. I can see how the medium wash ones are close to your other medium wash, but I think they are still different enough that you wouldn't split wears between them.

I am another vote to cuff them rather than crop them - at least until spring.

Love all of these! The first two are absolutely spectacular. I like Bijou's suggestion to keep them like this for winter and then assess if you feel the need. I think cuffing will also be an option for spring.

That's right -- you are heading into winter. I am with those who suggest cuffing for now, perhaps, for the length. And making a new decision in spring.

Also, what Bijou said about you and flares.

Also, get another pair of those G-stars, in another wash if you like, but get! They fit so well and look so cool.

Sal, as we are going into winter my vote is to keep the jeans longer and then crop them in the spring if you want to change things up. Both new pairs fit beautifully. I LOVE you in the flares - you just ooze 70's cool girl Farrah Fawcett vibes in those, so if the quality is not great my vote is that some new flares are in order next time you are updating your denim capsule.

I am not a fan of hemming unless they’re bootcuts — I’d rather leave the length and roll or cuff them to suit whatever I’m wearing on a given day. I find different methods suit different footwear.

I need to come back and take another look in the morning (my morning, I mean) to discuss lengths etc. What I will say now is that I very much like the variety you've achieved here in cut and wash. A very well-planned capsule.

Very good! I like the new dark ones a lot, to me dark ones always seem more dressy and those look great as is. The new mid wash are nice too, length looks good, but I have to say they don’t look very different to the older mid wash one to my rather uneducated eye ( w.r.t jeans, which I am on record as saying I can’t always see much difference! )
I don’t personally hold with fiddle-faddling about with them as far as cropping, tuxedo stripes etc but others may feel differently!

Hi all

In February I added two pairs of jeans to my collection.

1) Garcia High Rise Curve Fit Caro Jeans (dark wash)
2) GStar Raw 3301 True High Rise Slim Fit (mid wash)

I am wearing these two pairs in Photo 1.

The other pairs of jeans I own (outside two pairs of skinnies that are for gardening or for wearing with rain boots etc) are

3)High Rise straight raw edge (white

4) High Rise Flares (dark wash)

5) High Rise Slim Straight (blue mid wash)

These three are shown in Photo 2 ( a couple of photos from last year but they show the rise, tops being tucked and a couple of repeated tops)

My question is - should I crop (to a raw edge or with a seam) one pair of the mid wash jeans. Or should I try adding a tuxedo stripe to a pair or something else? The older mid wash Nobody jeans are in pretty good shape but they are likely to be downgraded as they feel a little less current than the newer ones (although the difference is marginal)

I think the dark wash Garcia jeans are a classic that suit having some length on them. I see these as dressier and good for work with a blazer.

I am also planning to get the flares altered a bit as they are a bit too big and slip down - I think a tuck at the back might work. Whilst I enjoy having some flares these pair are the worst quality. I tend to wear them as a change up in silhouette not as a workhorse so it does not matter too much.

So the two questions are
1) Lengths on the new additions - good or not (I haven't washed them as yet)
2) Crop one of the mid wash pair or not - or other decorative alterations?

I don't plan to add any more jeans as I find five pairs is perfect for my needs......I do have other pants and culottes. I rarely wear jeans in summer but rely on them heavily in autumn, winter and spring.

Thanks in advance!
