She very much didn’t want to go to a rest home and life granted her wish as she was well one day and dead the next ( of a heart attack at age 79). Dad had a fairly mild stroke at age 80 and went to the retirement village apartment after that. There were 6 at their dinner table, 4 women and 2 men. Dad and Eric were both widowers by then and the 4 women fussed over them both. Then Dad would go to Eric’s apartment to watch All Blacks games and they would munch on chocolate together. It gave them a lot of pleasure for a few years in their 80s. My glasses were scratched so I turned up to the optometrists Friday night. They tested me turns out the glasses I bought overseas were not progressives and I had to get new glasses. I basically had to pick them straight away so a young tired shop assistant helped me on a Friday night. I’ve been worried about what I actually chose as I had forgotten. Anyway I think I’m happy with my intuitive snap decision. I got prescription sunnies too.<br /> I haven’t been on here much as my mum was in hospital for 5 weeks and I’ve been overrun with work. I’m back to jeans but have found some boot cuts I love. That’s for another day. </p>
