Sending along lots of good wishes to you and your family, and I bet Henry thinks he's hit the jackpot being adopted into your home. Thank you so much for choosing a rescue doggie - I'm sure Henry feels incredibly grateful to be tucked lovingly into your family's home, instead of stuck in some shelter somewhere. You did a really good thing! <br /><br />I got my doggie (the spoiled rotten guy in my avatar pic) from the Boulder Humane Society - he'd been transferred from another state by a charitable organization, because his time was up. And by "up" I mean that he was going to be put down. Fortunately, he was transferred to another state and into a shelter with a higher adoption rate than where he came from. That's where we found him - he was a <i>problem dog </i>(don't ask - the list is long!) - and had spent most of the first two years of his entire life in shelters. <i>Nobody wanted him,</i> and he was *very* challenging. <br /><br />Lucky for us, he's turned out to be the greatest doggie...so smart, so cute, so loving and probably the very best behaved dog I've ever had. Amazing! <br /><br />Gus sends his 'congrats' to Henry - so glad he made it, and got into a really nice family (yours) who cares about doggies. <br /><br />Enjoy your new puppy - <i>what a cutie</i> - and I bet he turns out to be a really great dog. There is just something about dogs that are rescued. I think they know they've been rescued and I think they appreciate it so much. <br /><br />Henry's a very lucky guy - and when you rescue a doggie - you get back so much more than you expect. I think they know, on some level, that you plucked them out of an uncertain (and possibly dire) situation and brought them into a place where they are loved, secure, and safe. <br /><br />I think you're in for a world of joy, loyalty, laughter, appreciation, gratitude and love. <br /><br />Lucky Henry, and lucky you!<br /><br />Meanwhile, you might need to tell Henry that he needs to tone down the cuteness a wee bit, and tell him that sometimes it's just a little much and that we humans can only take so much 'cute overload'. I'm always telling Gus that the cuteness is excessive and that he needs to tone it down a bit. He doesn't, because that's exactly how he gets away with some of his shenanigans. <br /><br />Congrats to you, your family and Henry!
