DD just got an Alta and it is gorgeous. Slim and sleek and pretty. She loves it. I am holding out for the Mio Slice due to be released this summer, but I have to admit it's not nearly as pretty.

I have the One and wear it as Marilyn does without problems. The little case it comes in does sometimes break on me, but not the Fitbit itself. Like Janet, I don't really want a visible fitness tracker, so this is fine for my needs. Which I admit are incredibly basic. I don't "track" steps so much as notice them, if that makes sense. I don't count calories on it or pay attention to the sleep function, or really do much of anything except say to myself, oh, I walked that much, did I? But I still like having it.

I have the One and my first one stopped working last year after my big bike tour -- I don't know whether sweat from riding on the very humid last day did it, but nonetheless, when I told Fitbit, they sent me a new one free. I don't care to wear a visible fitness tracker, either. I just wish there were a version I could wear while swimming.

I've got the basic Fitbit One. I wear it clipped to the centre of my bra or my pant pocket. I have no interest in wearing a sports gadget on my wrist 24/7. I like that the One isn't visible.
Mine just does the basics but it's all I really need to keep me on track. With simple calorie and activity tracking I recently lost 10 lbs in 2 months. I'm only 5' so it's a fairly substantial amount of weight for me. I still eat a substantial amount of food.....I'm just more mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth and how much activity I need to burn it.

I used a clip-on FitBit for 2 years- everyday, no problems. I got an Apple watch in December and wore both for about a month to check calibration, etc and am now a total Apple watch convert (it does all the FitBit does and more- though I do miss the altitude/stair count that is only on FitBit). The Apple watch has just so many more useful applications (better exercise recording, ability to send/receive phone calls and texts, Apple pay- even without the iPhone nearby, and the timer app- very useful while cooking).

I've haven't had good lock with fitbits but some of that is my fault. I had a Zip that died after about 6 months. They sent me a new one but that one died after only 3 months so I gave up on the Zip and got a One. It was fine until I accidentally washed it. It still mostly worked and then I accidentally wore it into a hot tub. It's completely dead now. I don't like the wrist type because I wear a lot of bracelets and it clashes with them. However the clip on ones aren't working so well for me either. I really liked wearing one and felt it motivated me but I'm not sure what to do now.

I'm looking to get a new Fitbit too so I will follow this thread. The last one I had was a clip-on and it didn't last very long before dying on me.

My husband bought me the HR last summer and I haven't had any issues with it (and I'm always afraid I'm going to crunch it with a kettlebell). It is the only fitbit I've owned so i cant tell you how it compares to the others, but i like the color (plum) although it doesn't feel like jewelry to me. Honestly, I'm not very interested inthe heart rate moniter although it is supposed to track active minutes and it works for runs and even brisk walks, it does not track my yoga or kettle bell workouts. It also logs sleep.
did you have any specific questions about the HR?

I currently have a Fitbit Charge, and one of the corners of the plastic wristband is starting to peel where it meets the display. This is the second one that's done that - the company replaced the first version and might do so again, but I'm thinking this might be an opportunity to try a different style.

I like the looks of the new Fitbit Alta - narrower in width, more feminine and jewelry-like, with different changeable bands - but haven't seen it in person. Or I could go with a Charge HR which is the same size but has a different buckle and comes in more colors. Anyone have either of these or have seen them in the flesh?
