So I think my latest essential is backpack-style bags —<br /> I still enjoy my bright blue one that I’ve had for a few years, and I also have a plain black one, but the gunmetal has more personality. This style is so good when I’m super busy and carrying a lot of stuff around that requires both hands. (I’m hauling around a lot of artwork and equipment lately.) I just added a knee-length camel topper that I hope will become an essential in my mostly black wardrobe. Most urgently needed new essentials to add: <ul> <li>A pair of trendy sneakers with great arch support that work for my wide foot and will let me walk all day. I've been looking at Taos Stars (haven't tried on yet) because the reviews sound like they might work for a wide foot. Wearing wide shoes is new for me -- my podiatrist directed me a year ago to look at EE widths -- which really kills my style options. I'm getting a bit tired of having to throw on my hiking shoes for a day at the mall, but they are the only things I have right now I can be on my feet in for an extended period. Ugh.</li> <li>Jeans -- medium wash, not whiskery or ripped, skinny-ish boyfriendish, if that makes sense. Again, I'm a challenge to fit with a square shape and a waist that's very disproportionate to the rest of me -- especially after recent weight gain -- which I am working on.</li> <li>Summer essentials of all kinds - spring and summer always hit me hard, and I am light on workwear in particular. Skirts and dresses are a challenge with my limited footwear options -- although I do have a better collection of summer sandals than I do of closed-toe shoes and office shoes. Turtleneck sweaters are essential to me but I mostly buy them in cashmere or merino. I added white and navy thin cotton blend turtlenecks in the last couple of months. I plan to wear them as layering pieces under tops, sweaters, dresses and cardigans. Come to think of it, I should probably consider them to be of an underwear category as they are strictly for layering.&nbsp;<div>Cream tops and sweaters - new essentials as well.
