I'm not very helpful with regard to cropped flares, since I haven't tried many on, but I do want to suggest that you try out the high-waisted ones even though you are short-waisted. I am short-waisted too, and since the cropped flares make the legs look stumpy, the high rise doesn't look that bad. I bought a pair from Topshop that are high rise, and I am loving them on my short-waisted frame!

The point sur ones would have to be just the right width and length to work on your frame, but worth a try. I was thinking about that last pair in white, but they'd have to be my last pair of frayed edge jeans because this trend probably can't last more than another 8 months or so. Those major cuff jeans, I'd pass on ... They look like they might get flappy and droopy.

I like the CoH ones - a few people here have them, don't they? And I've seen the Anthro ones in person and they sure didn't look as good in the store as they do on the model here.....That is a lot of cuff and width. I have a pair of KUT straight crops with a let-down hem that I really like. Not too short, not too long. Bought them at Nord last fall.

I'd want to try the cuffed jeans with every pair of shoes and some tops you would plan to wear them with. I think a cuff that big is going to be one of the focal points of the outfit, so it could look really smashing with some combos, but maybe look a little off balance with a top that has its own focal point for example.

Those are very nice - I like the denim on the Point Sur especially and I think the leg on the CoH is nicely tailored. And I do love those Current/Elliotts :)

I am also short-waisted and with rises at 11" and 11.25" I would definitely have to try those on.

I think they look fabulous on the model and would probably look great on you, plus, CoH are my favourite jeans, ever, so I am biased. But I would hesitate for myself because of my short legs with the cutting horizontal line. I think I would need to alter the size of the cuff, probably, to make it work at all. And it would be less versatile than cuff-less ones.

But you should try and see! It does not hurt to try.

Okay, I usually like a rise of like 7.5 to 8 inches, sometimes slightly higher but no more than 9 ever. I really love the fit/feel of the AG jeans I bought on sale a couple months ago "AG Stilt Embroidered-Cuff Cropped Jeans" but I I always size up as I don't like a fitted or tight jean look. FWIW I think they look much too tight and a bit odd on the model shots, but I love them IRL on me. They are super soft to the touch (high cotton content if I remember) and have interest to my eye with the embroidered cuff. I got a size 30 (usually what I choose to have a slightly looser fit on the legs). They can go more preppy with slip on sneaks or slightly dressy casual with nicer sandals. I plan to buy more AG jeans in the future due to this purchase.

Suz, what's your opinion of the CH pair with the big cuff? I'm drawn to them because they are so different. I'd wait for an Anthro sale because they are spendy ... but I'd love to know your thoughts about them.

I think the only way to know is the try on. Are there specific brands that have worked great for you in the past? If so, I'd try those first and then some others. You wear denim super well and the cropped pant/ jean has always been a bit of a signature for you, so I think this is a no-brainer purchase.

Hi all,

I recently ordered two work travel dresses to try (CM print shirtdress and VC black floral shift), so I am not buying this week. But I AM working the wish list function pretty heavily -- it helps pass the time in hotel rooms, and I am back out on the road.

This week, I am thinking about spring denim. By some standards, my denim collection is pretty tight: 8 or 9 pairs including white. I have skinnies, a couple of pairs of flares which I wear sparingly, and one pair of cropped flares which are my go-tos in warmer weather. I'd like to get another pair of cropped jeans for the spring at some point, but with a different shape than my cropped flare pilcros, which fit pretty closely at the midsection (by design and thanks to a couple of pounds).

I'm a bit concerned about the preponderance of high-waisted crops, as I have to be really careful about that with my build (I am short-waisted). So I would have to try on and be ruthless about fit.

What do you think of the options I have below? For the JCrew, I have added some pictures of the models in them, which are helpful (they appear in the same order as the Finds).

Thank you!
