There are lots of colours which would go with this...but i think particularly greys or browns.

I would say it's something along the lines of rust or burnt orange. They don't have this color online anymore but a somewhat similar color is called "spicy gold", not that it helps much. :)

I like the idea of green, cream, or teal with this shirt, as suggested by several posters. Not sure if I have anything that would be quite the right color. It does look good with denim so I can always just layer something under the shirt to make it warmer and wear it like that.

Is this sort of a cinnamon color? On my screen it looks like that or a burnt, deep rust? I love this color with navy/denim, charcoal gray, deep eggplant, bright blue if you want to be color-blocky and bold, cream, teal.

This is gorgeous with the blue and the plum you are showing. I would also try forest green and brown. Gray seems like an odd pairing to me with this wonderfully warm, rich color. Grey is supposedly the new neutral of home decor and I think orange is having a moment in general, so I wouldn't take the prevalence of this combination as very meaningful. That is just my subjective opinion though.

What a gorgeous color! It will look beautiful with purple, teal, camel, and navy. I think it would also work with deep forest green if you have anything in that shade.

I second Sveta's suggestion of just trying it with all the colors you have in your closet. I've started doing this lately, and come up with some color combinations that I would never have automatically reached for. (Including a couple of bold ones that I'm not sure I'm brave enough to wear out in public, for fear of blinding people, but yet the colors look great paired together!)

I would suggest to try it with ALL items in your wardrobe and see which work. I find that colors are too complex to go by rules alone. E.g. grey was suggested but grey can be warm and cool, with purple, blue or green undertone. Some greys will work with this color and some will not and the best way to find out is to try then on!
(this is what I do with every new item I buy - pair it with every possible partner in my closet - and very often I find very unexpected color combinations I would have never thought of!)

I think because it's such a warm shade, you could try it with camels and browns, possibly certain shades of teal?

I'm a big fan of this colour - I have a dress and a shirt in a tan/gold - maybe a little lighter than your shirt. I think it works really well with navy and black as you have styled it in #1 and #2. I also have a pair of French blue pants that I think it looks good with, and jeans would work, too. I think if I were going for grey I would look for a lighter, softer shade.

I stopped by the mall yesterday with the goal of finding some woven tops, as I am gradually trying to replace all t-shirts and knits with wovens. Found this shirt on sale at JCrew. I like the color but it's the first orang-ish item in my wardrobe so I was a bit stumped by what to pair it with. The color is sort of like caramel; I looked online, and apparently caramel and grey is a pretty common combination, at least in home decor. Here are a few attempts to style the shirt. I also tried it out with purple. Opinions and advice are most welcome!
