More votes for #2! Thank you, ladies!

Zap - i have those exact concerns. I've struggled against my idea of comfort and gotten used to woven shirts, but to layer over them with something snug is a different animal! Just for the photo took enough tugging and reaarranging that I wondered if it was worth it. . . so I need to redo it and spend a few minutes in it to see if it's fuss-free.

Is it comfortable to wear the three pieces together? The twinset does not really work worn together, to my eye, as in #1, but # 2 is brilliant. I ask because I am finding so "claustrophobic" to layer multiple pieces like that. I'm definitely over the layering.

LOVE your styling in #2 Sara. I think twinsets are classic and sometimes preppy. They may not be "trending" at the moment, but your styling certainly elevates this one to modern status. Also, I think classic items are valuable in every closet. I have a jacket that I'll post in a week or so for K/R. I'm askng the same question == classic or dated?

Okay, thanks all! I guess that worn as just a twin set isn't where it's at

I'm going to go through the layering labor again to be sure it's not too much for me to actually wear - I'm not very patient with layers. If they pass that reality test, they will have earned closet space :-)

Thank you!!!

Love the twinset in general and I am envisioning this with chunky silver jewelry with big jewels; or even layering a few together to keep it current.

And I agree with Angie, love the idea of pairing it with an unexpected bottom like leather or even herringbone?

I love it in #2!! Definitely keep for this...and you can probably use the cardi as a top all buttoned with a scarf. I do that with a printed cardi I have. I never wear it otherwise.

Thanks, Angie, for chiming in We must have posted at the same time!

If I button up the torso, does that mean leaving a button or two still open at the top and bottom? If I do that, should I just keep only the cardi and wear it buttoned at the torso?

I do have a leather skirt No checked pants, but I can keep my eyes open!

bj - thanks! I couldn't decide if the colorblocking made them more current, or if my styling made a difference, or if they were hopeless. I really like the colors, so it's hard to let them go -- unless YLF points out what I'm missing

A week or so ago, Thistle posted the question whether twin sets were dated. There was disucssion about some being dated others being more current
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ashionable

But, I can't tell where this one falls.

Dated (return)? Keep?
The cardi is okay, but skip the shell? Vice versa?

1) as is
2) more current styling?
