Hi Taffy...w/out reading anyone else's comments, here are mine.

1. Blue Ruffle blouse gorgeous 10. Try it with a skirt!
B& W Microcheck--hard to tell in the photo (i cant see your feet) If you are not planning to keep all the microcheck pants, then the other two are more preferable.

2. Teal/Green Sleeve detail top--I like the way it fits thru your torso and chest. Not a big fan of the sleeve. BUt I have an aversion to puffy sleeves, so it could just be a personal thing. Brown plaid pants...LOVE THEM on you. My favorite pants of the bunch 10~

3. Green BR shirt ... looks fine tucked in... a little too long (you could shorten if you prefer to wear shirts untucked). 9 Pants second favorite of the glen plaids.

4. Turtleneck--I think it fits you fine...I'd try it with cream pants and a colorful necklace. I think that outfit is just a little to muddy overall. It just needs something to brighten it up. I give the top an 8. (You could try layering a sweater vest maybe a houndstooth one like Antje is looking for??

5. Blue cardi--beautiful. You look wonderful in this color. 10 Now that I can see the pants better, I like them a little bit more, but they seem a little ill fitting or are those just packaging wrinkles?

6. Grey cableknit cardi...eh, not exciting me like the blue one. Looks a bit too big. I give it a 7.

7. Green ruffle top...Looks too big to me. I'd return it for a smaller size.

the scarf I'm not going to comment on because I'm not a scarf person.

Taffy! You did well. You look AMAZING in bright blue and green. LOVE the checked pants. Woohoo! I’m excited. You look fab! (Shirt looks great un-tucked). I think you need a L/S button-down too.

I’m with Naf – return the last three items and hold onto the rest. WELL DONE.

I agree with everyone's overall assesment, brighter blues and greens look great on you. And the pants fit so well, I hear you on the joy of finding pants that fit well, I'd say keep them all :)
I would let go of the last 3 items and the turtle neck is ok but not great. I think you can do better with the color, fits you well though.

Great set of new purchases! Love most of it, here are some comments:

1. Super! Great blouse, great outfit.
2. I don't like the poofy shoulders on this blouse for you.
3. Good blouse and pants, and definitely should be tucked in. Doesn't make you look short-waisted at all! It's a very good look. Suggest a skinny patent leather belt.
4. Turtleneck is fine.
5. Cardi and whole outfit is super! You wear that color VERY well.
6. I don't really like the length of the cardi, it should be either shorter or longer I think.
7. The blouse looks big, and I think the color is not optimal. You look so good in brighter shades.
8. Same comment as Shel: Nice scarf, but I wouldn't wear it with this blouse. It would look great with a plainer shirt, e.g. solid color button-down. To pep up the ruffle blouse (if you decide to keep it), I'd try a vest instead.

Thanks everyone for the input! After all of you liking the turtleneck, I'll give it some more thought. I might not like it simply because I've never worn one. It is SO comfortable, and the sleeves are insanely long...reaching all the way to my thumb joint! (I don't think that has ever happened in my life )

Ellen- I was thinking maybe a raspberry cami with the blue...that would be a nice contrast. I agree with you on the green button up..although I'm not sure if it's just because it's a style I'm totally not used to.

Tanya-- I could probably try a smaller size in the green ruffle from Gap. Did you size smaller when you tried it on?

Jillian--I think the ruffle top does come in purple. You don't think two of the same shirt would be too much? I think a few of you all have doubles of some styles, right?

As for the scarf, I thought brown would be good since I'm usually in greens and blues... but maybe I should get one each of green and blue and alternate with the color of my shirt? Or is that too formulaic? I think my only other choice would be a deep purple...pinks and yellows make my skin tone turn ruddy.

AJ-- I really love all three of the pants..which I assured my husband could not possible happen before they came! If you had to pick 1 or 2 of the 3 which ones would you choose? Or do you think 3 micro-check pants aren't too many? I get so excited to find pants that fit well!

Shell--thanks for the critiques. I think when you're short waisted the general idea is a thinner belt...is that right? I saw some a cute gray adjustable one at Express lately. I'll have to check for some other colors.

THanks again everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi taffy!

1. love the blouse!!! what a fabulous color on you! looks great with the pants.

2. i love the color and all, but i'm a little leery about the shoulder detail - it just makes your shoulders look a tad bulky.

3. love it tucked in! it looks like it's pulling slightly at the bust - you could combat this by unbuttoning the top button and wearing a bright cami (perhaps blue or purple?)

4. looks better tucked in. this style might work with a chunky belt, but overall, i'd stick to it tucked in.

5. love the turtleneck. looks great with that necklace!

6. pretty sweater! great necklace you've paired it with!

7. might just be the lighting, but you look a little washed out in this color. it also seems just a little big. not my fave :(

8. pretty blouse, but it seems a little too voluminous. would a smaller size work better?

9. i like the scarf, but it doesn't seem to go with the shirt.

overall, i love your new purchases! you look so classically chic in your new outfits!

Great choices! I really like the blue ruffle top, the bright blue cardigan and the microcheck pants. I think the gray cardigan and the scarf are the best colors on you so they would need something between them and your face. I think the turtleneck is beautiful. You could wear it belted or with a statement necklace and look very classy.

First, you wear greens and blues so well. Is this the first time you've shown your face in photos? It does make a difference-- wow! Second, you've done a SUPER job shopping

#1: OMG, gorgeous top on you! I think the styling and length could work with a pencil skirt too. Doesn't it also come in purple? If your lifestyle supports both, you might consider another as this is just awesome on you and purple probably looks good on you as well

#3: belt the top over trousers?

#4: turtleneck thoughts: Tanya's idea of the statement necklace is good. thin scarf with pattern or stripes could also work and be cozy. Even a solid pink scarf would be good and would add color. I saw some at the Gap recently and Inge our resident pashmina hound probably has some good suggestions :-)

#5: great cardi. this is a great color on you and you'll wear it a lot because it is flattering and a versatile piece

#6-8: these do not do justice to your gorgeous coloring and hair without more colorful accents

Hi Taffy, first I must say that you look lovely in all of these blue-green shades. Here are my 2 cents:

1. Love both the top and pants on you! That top is gorgeous!

2. Again, both look very nice. Especially like the contrast between that shade of green and your hair.

3. Great fit of the pants. Love the color of the shirt, but I am not sure if it's pulling a bit at the chest area.

4. The turtleneck looks nice, I do not see why you say it has to go. You couls try layering a vest over it.

5. Gorgeous cardi! The color is incredible on you. You could also try layering it over tie-neck top/blouse, or any with interesting collar .

6. I am not a big fan of this grey shade on you.

7. Love the color of the shirt on you. It is boxy though, so if you don't add darts, I'd wear it under a cardi/jacket.

8. The scarf is pretty, although I prefer a brighter color for you near your pretty face. I tend to wear it down the middle.

What a great job you have done! A+

The microcheck pants and the cardi look great! I agree you need more colour with the cardi, though a crisper white might look really classic as well, depending on your accessories. Belted could be great?

I actually think the turtleneck looks very good on you - it's a flattering fit! With jeans and a statement necklace/bag it could be excellent!

Not such a fan of the green BR button down. Not sure what, but something in the fit doesn't seem right...

I recieved a bunch of new clothes from Gap and BR to model for you! What do you think? CRS welcome!

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1479.jpg
This is my favorite top. ruffle wrap from Gap. black and white microcheck fit and flare pants with adjustable waist that Angie blogged about.

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1478.jpg
Straight leg micro-checks with a BR top with shoulder detail.

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1474.jpg
http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1475.jpg
Green button down from BR, and trouser leg microchecks from Gap...It seemed too long to leave untucked, but I fear I'm too short waisted for tucking in? (hence the lack of a belt. I don't own one!)

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1476.jpg
Ultra soft and comfy turtleneck from Gap... I'm thinking it must go. What do you layer over it other than a structured jacket? (which would look like office wear...yuck) pants from #3

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1482.jpg
BR cardi with pants from #1...I'm thinking this would be the best way to wear it, other that something ruffl-y underneath?

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1487.jpg
Gray Gap cardi. I only have a cream cami, so I'd have to get more color underneath it. I'm ambivalent towards this one.

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1484.jpg
The green ruffle top from Gap...was to boxy to leave out, so I thought I'd try tucking. Never thought of waist darts like Tanya posted...I can look into that

http://i277.photobucket.com/al.....CF1485.jpg
New scarf over green ruffles. Do you lay it off to the side like this or straight down the midde?

Thanks for all your help!!!THis was probably my most successful shopping venture ever, thanks to all I've learned here
