Elly, no offense at all!! You do have a good reason to avoid heels! I would want to stay well below that beam.

Ummlila, they had taupe, navy, black and brown where I bought them. The silver are great! I saw a pair of booties in the same style in charcoal.

I also didn't mean to offend-- my 6' thing is purely for practical reasons. I have a very comfy pair of shoes that puts me at at 5'11 and I often hit my head on the low beam in my office.

Marley, I am never offended by anything you say so don't worry.

During my closet Cleanout I eliminated 26 pairs of shoes! I actually could use a few. Right now I am on the lookout for warm boots, cognac booties and tall boots, and oxfords. I also want a pair of blue dress shoes and casual shoes for cool weather. Still many fewer than I purged. I still have a few that are out dated and can be either replaced or eventually purged as I replace them.

You are so correct when you point out my impulsivity and question me, You have been very helpful! I have to laugh at what I just wrote! I can justify anything I do! Rather than erase it, I'm leaving it just to show you how silly I can be :-)

Yes Gigi, they are the dark brown! I'm so glad to hear that they keep your feet warm! They told me that some people wear them as winter boots, and I was hoping that on more mild days I could get away with wearing them so I don't have to change shoes/boots. That's what I love about the weather proof shoes/boots by Bos Co., Aquatalia, and Blondo (I have several pairs of their boots).

Suz, the pumps are made by a company called BeautiFeel. I have several pairs of their shoes - very comfortable.

Great choices! I love them all. But I am biased on the Aquatalia Rhumbas...I have the exact same ones. I think they're even the same color. Are yours the dark brown? I just wore mine today. I do think that they are very comfy, and the heel is very manageable. Also, they are so, so warm! They are as warm as my snow boots. They are a good shoe.

Well you certainly have covered the shoe spectrum with your purchases I see formal, casual/gear, casual and dressy casual all represented! Sounds like you are comfy in the heeled boots. I have a hard time with that myself. I'd love to see all of these styled up. I especially can envision the leopard pumps with your wardrobe palette. Fun shopping trip

Well I think they all look like great choices (I am trusting you that it is comfortable to walk in those heels). Wardrobe holes is a bit stringent a test, since to me a hole is something you really need to function. If you can imagine yourself wearing them, imagine the outfits and the occasions, and are dying to try I think you are in good shape.

But it sounds as if you do have a need or at least a use for all of these and I am sure the Aquatalias as at least will give you long wear! Also, you waited a full month to buy and still wanted them, which tells me they really filled an emotional need if nothing else!

Staysfit on "New boots and shoes!"

They are all very comfortable. if you look closely at the Rhumba boots you will see that they have a platform and the heel height is deceiving! The actual height is around 2 inches maybe just a bit more, not much, and they are easy to walk in. They look like they have a 3 inch heel don't they? They are very comfortable and have fairly good arch support.

I don't mind being tall or wearing heels as long as they don't hurt my sensitive "running" feet. I don't worry about my height. I like being tall. I also think a heel is good because my legs are proportionally short. In any case, when I'm working, I typically sit, or get down low so I am on the same level as whomever I am working with. If I am out with friends or my DH (who is 6'5") it doesn't matter.

"Where will I wear these?" is a great question. I can wear every pair of these shoes to work, but I expect the Rhumba boots will be reserved for more dressy occasions. There are no specific dress codes where I work so I can pretty much wear what I want. I won't feel overdressed or underdressed in any of these shoes/boots. I will post some pics in the next few weeks to show how I wear them.

Really like the 3 pair of boots - those plum high boots are gorgeous (if that's what colour they are ). Hiking boots are never a bad buy imo - a classic that anyone can wear and style differently. Honestly not a fan of the shoes, but that's a completely personal thing .

They are all great on their own merits. Love the tortoise pump. Very classic! I'm no good at evaluating number 4. High heeled boots bug me because they cramp my stride, but I know many consider them essential. (I've only tried to wear them two times in my life and both pairs I ended up giving away in frustration. For me, a boot needs to be as comfortable as a sneaker or I'm not interested!)

Tortoise pumps are beautiful. I can't balance even on a low spiky heel, but I can admire them on you! I'd love to find something like that in a flat.
All the boots look great. Heel on #4 is high but that's not a style issue--if you can wear them, they look lovely.

Staysfit-these are all beautiful shoes/boots. The pumps are great, and the heel seems like it would be manageable for all day wearing. I like the hiking boots, and I like the wedge boots, but I'm wondering how you plan to wear each. Are they both for casual only, are the wedge work appropriate, are the hikers true gear? I like the high boots, how high is the heel? Is it comfortable enough to wear for walking? Sorry, more questions than answers, but as one shoe lover to another, these are the questions that I find help me

So my shop free month is over, and I went to my favorite shoe store and purchased the boots I had planned to buy, plus two other pairs. I found a pair of low heeled tortoise print shoes that fit perfectly, and IMO they are beautiful. I have been on the lookout for something like these and was so happy to find them. I love this style of heel, and was so happy that the heel is not covered in leather, because I always ruin those. This one is molded plastic so I don't have to worry. I believe I will get a lot of wear out of them because they are a classic style.

I also purchased a pair of Boz waterproof hiking boot style booties. They are much lighter weight than my real hiking boots, and they have zippers to make them easier to put on and take off. I love them, they are so comfortable that I wore them out of the store and to the mall where I had to go to return the J Crew Regency Blazer that I had purchased but decided not to keep. They are perfect for casual days in our rainy fall weather. I also love the laces, very fun.

Finally, I purchased two pairs of Aquatalia that I had eyed during my spending freeze, one is the lace up green wedge booties , and the other is the sleek looking heeled dressy Rhumba boots. I love them all! I look forward to wearing them. Since I am trying to eliminate one item for every new item, I posted three pairs of shoes I am considering for elimination in a different thread. I have already eliminated a 4th, that was so obvious I didn't need any help.

I wonder if two of these pairs of shoes were purchased a bit impulsively, but I have such a good feeling about them. They fit my style and my lifestyle, and I think they will be on my feet a lot over the next few months. What do you think? Did I fall into my old bad habits?

I was so excited I just wanted to share!

Thanks for looking :-)
