My back would hurt after walking for 10 hours in heels too. Are you counting on these to be standing-all day-shoes? It could also be just a one time thing. You could get used to it.

Yes, I know that Zappos says original condition, but Ive NEVER had a problem returning any shoes...even one where the entire sole was discolored from Aldo's Suds cleaner and I had it and wore it steadily for a good 3 months- it just started bothering me and I pulled out a worn out pair from SAS and they were more comfy! So back the Clarks went.......you dont need to bother calling- who knows, you might get a crab on the phone! I'd just send them back without hesitation if you cant get them to work for you.....

Have just googled and found this:

http://www.zappos.com/shipping-and-returns

It says in original condition, but I've found with places that have a good customer service reputation (that zappos obviously has from other posters), if you're completely honest with them they help you out.

Don't panic! Take a bit of time to think about it (don't wear them outside in the meantime?) while you decide what to do. The problem may sort out anyway. Then if you do want to return suggest you ring and talk to someone at Zappos?

Greenglove, do NOT be worried about returning items to Zappos....even if you no longer have the original box or receipt! You WILL get a full refund...they can find the invoice for you and are very quick to refund your card! Ive done it several times and have not once had a problem! Even when I used a cleaner that discolored the soles!

If you cannot get acclimatized to the heel height, maybe you can get the heel reduced. I think Angie had something like that done.

Hi Jean, I am afraid that I agree with Biscuit's mom on this....if I go over 1.5 in. and I am on my feet a long time ( and you were on your feet a LOOOOONG time ) I get upper back pain. Mostly because it radiates up from my lower back and causes muscles spasms where I have scoliosis and a disc problem ( my lower back is fine ). So this is not out of the question. However, the situation that you wore your boots in seems a bit extraordinary to me because of the amount of time on your feet.

If it is happening like you think it is, the only thing to do is to strengthen your back muscles or to stretch and flex during the time you wear them. I do some crazy stretching at events where I have to wear heels for a while and it really helps my back stay loose and pain free ( my physical therapist taught me the stretches to accomplish this ).

Good Luck !!!!!

Bisquitsmom,
What great advice! I think I will try that. I do not have any major back problems , I guess just sensitive to a shift in heel.I thought that Zappos only returned shoes in their original condition. Are you sure they would take back worn shoes?

I have a really bad back and definitely feel it in my upper back whenever I change heel height....no matter the size. What Ive done is slowly increase the time spent wearing a pair and eventually it gets somewhat better, and try not to go from higher heels to flats, kinda go up or down in size a bit each day....troublesome, but worth it. I have scoliosis, 4 bulged discs and bone spurs so it probably affects me more than it will you.....if you got them from Zappos remember you have up to a year to return them, even if you've worn them a lot. I'll keep my fingers crossed you can keep them- they are beauties!

I have no back pain advice to give but I hope it's not from the boots. I find most shoes, I have to break in or work my way up to wearing them a full day. There are not too many pairs that I can wear out of the box with no break in time. Maybe they just needed to break in?

Thanks Marley and Tanya,
I am fairly certain the back issue is related. I may have to wear them for shorter periods of time. I was hoping for this price they would go the mile. I am beating myself up but how could I ever predict that would happen? I had looked at so many other boots and made certain that these fit correctly.
Hopefully it is not as related as I think it is.

Oh wow - I can't really say - I've never noticed that before with 2 inch or less heels - can you only trace this back to the boots? Could your pain be from something else? I would think (but, I don't really know) that shoes and heel heighth would affect the lower back more than the upper back. Hope they work out for you - cuz that brand of boot is killer!

Hmm, not sure about the upper back part. Painful heels result in painful feet for me, not back. For the sore balls of he feet, you can always try adding those little gel half-inserts, they have helped me a lot. I really hope this goes away after you have worn them some more, since they are gorgeous on you.

I am having a dilemma with my gorgeous new La Canedienne Ramonas.
http://www.zappos.com/la-canad.....wn-leather
I wore them around the house for a couple of hours and they were perfectly comfy.
I wore them the entire day last week- probably 10 hours with 4 hours of shopping. (Probably not a good idea). The balls of my feet were a bit sore. Not bad at all.
However- I had upper back pain. I wonder if it is because they have a bit of a heel. I think it is less than 2 inches. I am freaking out a bit because they were very expensive and I have already worn them. (And I love them) They are not defective and quite comfortable on my feet.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am usually ok with a bit of a heel. I only wear higher heels as occasion shoes.
I am hoping I will get used to them as this has sometimes happened with completely flat new shoes and my body adjusts.
