Shana, does it have big nude B&W photographs of each body type? The one I saw did.

My problem with S&C, other than the uniform you mentioned, is that their outfits have nothing to do with their lifestyle. I don't think a fitted jacket is on the list of priorities for a woman in Houston, and 4" heels aren't practical for anyone.

I also noticed some time ago that they always seem to mention "going out for cocktails." Maybe I'm a frumpy old 24 year old, but I don't really go out for cocktails on even a semi-regular basis. Is this really that typical? I don't mind the occasional drink, but I don't really get dressed up for it or think of it as an integral part of my lifestyle (like work or class or family time).

Maya, I am laughing because I think I have that book - you're right, they seem to represent every body type themselves which makes no sense! Oh and the expressions they had on their faces were just hilarious.

I used to enjoy watching their show - I think there was some more individuality and flair to their outfits (although some were just awful). Less of a uniform that S&C's choices. They seemed to better integrate the personality of the dressee - which led to some pretty zany outfits!!

I never understood what all the fuss over T&S is. I have never liked their choices or recommendations. I remember picking up a book a few years ago where, as you mentioned, they did all the modeling. How exactly do they think they represent EVERY body type?

On each spread, they had "don't" and "do" pictures. Most of the "don't" pictures looked bad not because the clothes were necessarily unflattering, but because they were the wrong size or length and T&S had these god awful expressions on their faces or were posing in a silly way.

I remember one page in the "big butt" section (or whatever it was called) where one of them was modeling two different dresses, and the dress that they said was flattering was absolutely awful. First of all it was see through and she had nothing underneath! you could see her entire thigh and probably her bum as well (she was turned to the side). Her butt looked absolutely enormous. The dress was so clingy and tight. That was the point at which I put the book down and decided these women really had no idea what they were talking about. I'll take Angie's advice over theirs any day of the week.

I don't always agree with Stacey and Clinton (most of the time I don't), but I can't deny that the outfits they come up with are almost always flattering (even if a little boring or impractical).

I just went through the latest book of Trinny and Susannah:
Who Do You Want To Be Today?: "Be Inspired To Dress Differently: Be Inspired to Dress Differently" and frankly feel very disappointed. I realize that to write one book per year on subject of cloths and dressing can have limits but I have expected much more. Most of the book misses any touch with reality, repeats and repeats previous books over and over again, recommends the same cosmetics, shops and brands . The novelty is using not only posing authors of the book as it was in the past , but also 4 ordinary girls/women of different size/age/body type. The details however show that while the cloths in which Trinny and Susannah are posing in come straight from top shelf designers all the "ordinary girls" are dressed with street names like H&M, M&S or Zara....When I started to watch their programs in 2000 I was impressed how smart, sharp and down to earth they are. Now I have a feeling that the success made them more and more detached from the wide range of ordinary women thanks to whom they got their success in a first place.

I wonder what is your opinion??

Just imagine if our Angie ( Angie, sorry for familiarity;-)) Placed at every post here her own photographs dressed from head to toe in a certain Valentino or D&G...
