I knitted 2 sweaters one particularly sad and boring winter when I was in my early 20s!, but haven't done it ever since. They were quite elaborate projects, too. There was changing of colors and abstract shapes on one and quite interesting collar on the other. Didn't follow any directions whatsoever, just instincts! They turned out quite nice. Everybody was eying them when they were hanging on the balcony.
