Actually, the oxfords arrived two hours ago - I hadn't expected they'd still deliver that late in the evening. They're really comfortable! Even with bare feet. But they'll work with hose too, maybe also thin socks. They're darker than the pictures suggested, more taupe than grey. But a great color. As long as you feel comfortable and confident in it, I'd second your decision to keep it. It gives you a nice alternative to all your fuller skirts. I also like the pinned length--nice with bare legs in the summer. </p> <p>I personally think smoking slippers are a hard shoe style for many women. If they work, they look great, but if they don't, they can be really unflattering.
