If you want to start with a "body type" post (when you feel comfortable) we can help you determine what shapes work best for your body type.

You might also think about what colours you truly prefer and which ones flatter you. They may be the ones you're currently wearing, or maybe you want a change.

Lots of food for thought in the blog archives for sure! And Gaylene is right. We all started where you are now (well, most of us!)

Welcome RedM. Actually you've described the outfit that 90% of us wore when we started hanging out in the YLF forum.

Mo's suggestion to start with some of Angie's formulas, particularly the MOTG ones, is probably the way most of us eased into transforming that formula you're currently wearing. Looking at pictures of WIW and Angie's deconstructions of her outfits is also super helpful. And the Team X/ TeamY challenges are a way to understand what you like and don't like, which really helps define your style goals.

Hi! You're not alone - some of us are still finding our way years later :)
I'd start with searching Angie's outfit formulas on the blog and also look into the Team X or Y to get a better idea of what you do actually like.http://youlookfab.com/category/team-x-team-y/ And just hang around and read, read, read. Looking at people's WIW (what I wore) posts are very helpful as well. Welcome!

I've realized that I don't really have a sense of style. Some of that is because a number of things I come across and like aren't really practical for my lifestyle, so I end up wearing what's comfortable. I work in a very casual office. My typical "uniform" consists of straight leg or boot cut jeans, a scoop neck or v-neck tee in white or a jewel tone, and a longer cardigan (the office is cold). Typically I pair these with ballet flats or converse. I don't really accessorize, simply because I have no clue how to do so. I wear a watch, my wedding ring, and a pair of stud earrings pretty much everyday and that's it. I usually end up pulling my hair back into a ponytail because it's thick and wavy and in the way. It's a frumpy look on me.

If I had to pick my favorite style related things I own they would be an emerald green leather bag, my hounds tooth winter boots, a 1930's watch with a cord style band, my vintage inspired wedding ring, and a classic belted khaki trench coat.

I've probably just rambled a bit, but how do I take what I like and mix it with items that have style but that are also practical for my everyday life? I have a number of great heels and sheath dresses I never get to wear because you can't run around a warehouse in them. I'm kind of lost.
