For me it is about 50%: 20% VAT and 30% import taxes. But those numbers vary for different countries. WIth Fedex, they include any customs duties in the total cost of the shipping so we don't pay anything separately, just see the tool price when we get the bill. Unfortunately, I have no clue what the duties are since I usually just write "research samples, value $1". Hope someone here with first-hand knowledge will chime in. I was thinking of ordering a leather jacket for my daughter from Muubaa in the UK. I already emailed them asking how much (general range okay) to expect to pay in duties, but I expect they're not going to be helpful. Has anyone in the US here paid duties on a leather jacket of approximately $205?(And also, now I'm wondering if the duties would be levied based on the original value/price, or on the sale price? It's sold at 50% off, so that would make a big difference.) Also, where would I be paying? My local US Post Office? Now I feel sorry for all you Canadians who are dealing with this frequently!
