You could save the rest and spend it as needs arise, or for next season's needs.</p> <p>But I'd totally use it for home goods. I feel so much responsibility to use it wisely, both because it is a very generous gift from someone I enjoy, and because I have really limited my wardrobe budget now that I have no paycheck. So how would you plan to use this? </p> <p>I started by putting everything that appealed to me in my shopping bag, but I ended up deleting a bunch of sweaters, dresses and shoes that would see little to no use. Then I thought maybe 1 or 2 special (aka expensive) things. But nothing really spoke to me. I ended up ordering a few pieces of jewelry and a handbag. The jewelry is going back for various reasons. The handbag is a pre-order that won't arrive for a few weeks. Next, I went looking for "holes" in my *very* complete wardrobe.</p> <p>Although I do have a few opportunities to get dressy, the majority of my life now ranges from nice casual to sporty casual. I should also add that I have a well-stocked wardrobe that I mostly love. My only identified holes are: </p> <ul> <li>a classic cognac handbag</li> <li>a cognac belt with gold hardware</li> <li>a small black dressy-ish crossbody for evenings and travel</li> <li>an 18" 18-24 karat coated necklace that is lightweight</li> <li>versatile earrings, preferably mixed metals</li> </ul> <p>I'm always open for another Eileen Fisher piece or two as well. I live in a very warm climate though, so most of what's available at the moment is too warm to ever be worn. </p> <p>After deciding to return the jewelry,&nbsp;I found a black leather crossbody and a cognac belt at Last Call. Those should arrive next week. I also ordered a couple EF tops that, if they are keepers, will see a ton of wear. They should also arrive next week. The handbag from the original order should arrive sometime next month.</p> <p>If all the new items are keepers, I've used a good chunk of my gift card. But I'm still left with the majority of it. How would you approach deciding how to spend it?&nbsp;</p> <p>Neiman's doesn't seem to be terribly compatible with the finds function...the wrong colors or strange pics get saved to finds, so I'm including pictures of the items in the colors I chose as well as the finds. The black bag in finds is the way I ordered it.</p> <p>Thoughts on any of this? I'm wide open to suggestions. </p>
