I'm 5'2" and about to be 60. For me the main trick with jeans is getting the rise right. Hemming can be done for length (or for hacking them into something of your own, like clam-digger shorts) but the rise is what it is.

Comfort and "ease of use" are also essential - anything too tight is a no and I will never wear a button-fly style. Safety too: I don't wear heels and do worry about tripping on hems.

I love Brooklyn's description of her mum's approach to jeans - did that speak to you? And yes to what Jules and Jaime said; Angie's recent recap is a great place to start.

Hi Bridgie. My mum is in her 80s, medium height and on the curvy side. She wears straight leg type jeans that are slightly cropped. Mid to dark wash. She wears them with coloured sneakers or other flat shoes (eg loafers). In Summer she wears cropped straight leg white jeans. She looks fabulous.

Hi Bridgie it’s lovely to hear from you. Maybe some comfortable but dressy pants like Angie and Suz like would be good too. I love my slightly dressy pants at the weekends as well as at work so long as they’re comfy.

I find very wide jeans a bit overwhelming on me (5'3") but a barrel/balloon jean that tapers back at the ankle works. Agree with Jules above.

Hi bridgie nice to hear from you again!

I think you can choose any style of jeans that you like! Did you see Angie's 2024 jeans trend report? Maybe that will give you some inspiration:
https://youlookfab.com/2024/02.....-for-2024/

I need your collective advice!
What jeans do you suggest for me? I'm short, 5'2", a little pudgy, but not bad, but certainly not overweight.
Anything else you want to suggest is fine also. Almost forgot, I will be 90 in three months. You read that correctly. I have always worn stylish clothes, so I am not ready to wear housecoats Or house dresses as I think they are called now.
I don't get out as much as I used to and I am wearing the clothes I have for stay at home days, so I want a few stylish clothes to wear when I go somewhere.
Thanks so much for your help.
