I think it is the light, Carla. Winter light just doesn't look right with some colours. The sun is coming though!

Unfrumped, you are reading my mind! Spring usually comes early where I live and as such I have picked up most of my spring shopping already. Yet, as the colder days stick around (our high was 20 degrees F below average I heard on the radio last week). I am still itching to buy more spring (and even summer!) stuff. I think since my recent purchases havent been in rotation yet, its as they somehow dont register in my mental bank.

Oh! Torontogirl I'm with you! Today I dangerously wore my short booties (with black tights, black pencil, blush top) because I just didn't want to wear my tall boots anymore. Just house to car, and car to work, etc. -20C but no snow, so I was okay.

I want to wear my pointy toe flats and sandals, and roll my pants bottoms! I want to wear my white jean jacket! I want to wash my hair and let it air dry curly! I want to go bare legged with my skirts and dresses!

Good idea, Unfrumped. I was thinking that it was odd that so many of us (me included) dress in dark colours, with touches of white...almost like winter camouflage. Why do we save colour for the summer?

Well, all I can say is that I am ready to BURN my winter boots and puffer!! But we have a few weeks to go I'm afraid :(

Sounds like you have a good strategy - I like the idea of bringing the spring into the picture, esp. if it stops excessive shopping!!

I thought I had a little strategy going in which I would wear lighter brighter colors but still in warmish fabrications.

It's working, but it's amazing how much I feel I NEED to get on with spring in terms of what I wear. But, it's been so slow to warm up. MAYBE we have had our last days of "unexpected" weather. So I've been dressing all wooly and cozy and

I probably even have way more than enough items already but since I've been too cold to wear them, it's like they don't register, somehow. And I'm not able to take stock and see what is in or out, fit changes and so on.

I'm thinking I'm going to make an even bigger effort to layer up --this is a good opportunity for being more creative, at least, and wearing some combinations that will be too hot in May and June--and rotate back in some cardigans and print blouses. I need to see how these are working in my wardrobe and get a sense of what's there or I will just shop for some things that are duplicates. For layering up, I mean both traditional sweater over blouse type things, and also just whatever "hidden" layers it takes to be warm.

I'm making a specific distinction between actually buying lovely spring things-- instead, just going ahead and rotating over to much more of my existing all-season clothing. Of course this is more feasible because the temps aren't nearly as frigid as what some fabbers are still facing.

Anybody else feel this way?
