I know this doesn't quite answer your question, or help you if you've already determined what two colours you want to wear together, but I find it easier to start with one of my clothing items, then find a scarf including that colour or close to it. Then I choose another colour that's in the scarf and shop my closet or even purchase new to bring in that second colour. It's just easier to find a solid colour or tone-on-tone print in a regular garment than it is to find a scarf with the two colours you happen to want to pull together.
However, when I'm determined to pull an outfit together, I've even bought a length of drapey print fabric and fringed or hemmed it myself. Sometimes it's easier that way to find the colour mix I want for a scarf. Even though the colours don't have to match exactly, I still want an accessory such as a scarf to look like I planned it to go with an outfit, rather than something I just threw on as I ran out the door.

Any scarf that has one of the colors of either the shirt or sweater color in print would be the easiest sugesstion. Just remember the shade of purple or yellow doesn't have to match exactly to look good. I hope this helps.

The fact that I love scarves doesn't make me an expert, but ....my view is that they don't have to "match" the top , per se. I like toning and complimentary colors. Someone put posted this link the other day and it is fantastic. It gives you ideas of color palettes. I put in teal and yellow. ( I have to go back and find who it was so that I can give her credit ).

http://www.colourlovers.com/pa.....&y=21

ETA : I loved the teal, yellow and very deep purple/wine...swoon.

I bought 2 sweaters in teal and black. With the teal I want to wear a golden yellow t and with the black a purple t. However I am having a hard time trying to find scarves with these combos. Any ideas of what color scarves I can look for? Should I be looking for scarves with other colors in them too?
