I have tried on some Nayas and they are very comfortable. I'm also a big fan of Sofft, you mentioned them being too wide. They do also carry narrow sizes in case you hadn't tried them...

I love my Softspots sandals, and the brand comes in narrow as well as wide widths.

Naya is also often recommended on barkingdogsshoes.com.

I think those are the same Borns that Janet just bought in gold so you might want to check out her thread.

Diana - thanks for the tip. I do have some orthotic insoles which I put in some shoes and maybe that would make the overall shoe narrower too? I will have to bring them with me in shopping.
Confession that I have NO booties. Probably the last one on YLF lol. I mostly need to stick to wedge or flat since ladders and stockrooms aren't good for a free heel. Although, I was wearing Cons when I had a horrid injury to my leg on a ladder - go figure.

What do you think of these Borns? I like patent so that's not an issue for me although not as versatile as other colors. It's a great price to try out the shoe.

Christienne, my born arlettas (are those the ones you were looking at?) are super comfy and run narrow. Most borns are too wide for me as well but these are good. I have 2 pairs.

Would you be able to do a boot/bootie, or are you specifically looking for closed toe non-boot shoes? I have a lot of problems with those, but find boots a lot easier - you can put arch supports in and they have built-in ankle support, plus the backs don't cut into your ankles.

I think Naots are super comfy and most of the styles run narrow - again, I can't do the regular shoes though (heel cup is too deep), just boots or sandals. I also like Danskos, although the professionals are too wide.

I will look at Danskos - that's an option maybe. I did just find a pair of Born oxfords on Nordstrom site and the reviews claim they fit narrow feet. I might order as sale price is great and I can always return. People are always going on and on about Borns!

Good suggestion Helen - we have those shops here. And they may more supportive than my beloved Me Too brand. I think I need more support these days.

Sounds like we have different shoe requirements, i have bunions and I can't wear Cole Haan but love Born, Fidji and Clark's work too. Hoping you get some feedback from narrower feet YLFers.

Do you have Naturalizer available where you are? (Or you can browse & order online: http://www.naturalizer.com/). I have several pairs from them - two pairs of leather sandals, and two leather booties - that have lasted many seasons (I'm rough on my shoes!) beautifully. SO comfy. I never feel shoe pain after a day of walking in them, seriously. They're not cheap, but there are often sales and if you become a member, they're always sending coupons through email, etc.!

And now the realization of what working again means sets in lol. I am going to need some new 10 hr comfy shoes. I purged my old work shoes because they were pretty casual (at my last company we wore black/khaki and red shirts) and somewhat ugly and practical (and I was sick to death of them truth be told).

I need to find some VERY comfy flat or low heeled shoes - mostly to wear with pants but I might try to find a new low heel for skirts as well. Retail for me is a 80% pants business. There is a lot that happens pre opening and it's pretty physical. Skirts are for meetings and night shifts because not so much moving fixtures or floor around and working in back rooms. After 25 years of retail, I have learned to do those things in skirts, hose and high heels but luckily women don't have to anymore.

So suggestions for most comfortable shoes?
Cole Haan has always been good for me. I can't wear Born or Sofft (too wide) but will look anywhere else!
