You need to consider whether your skin is dry, oily, combo, balanced, or sensitive. And that’s before color! Counters at Nordstrom and I think Sephora can squirt out little samples. Makeup tends to oxidize on me so ends up darker than in the bottle.</p> <p>Getting foundation color right at least for me has been really really hard. I’m Asian raised in the US so more tanned than you are likely to find in Asia. Most colors here are for white people and don’t have enough yellow for me. I think I found my color in a NARS line — which is breathtakingly expensive. Ugh!</p> <p>Best wishes! I am not a bag person. I usually have one or two bags, and that is it. I love make-up. I watch YouTube videos for ideas. Many good ones depend on what you are looking to learn. I like Lisa Eldridge, Wayne Goss, Lisa J and a few others.<br />Make-up lessons are a good idea.<br />My style is a natural look, so I go with natural make-up. Others go for something different. I never wear foundation or anything on my complexion.<br />My basics are an MLBB lipstick (my lips but better), eyeshadow (3 shades to contour and emphasize my eyes), eyeliner, mascara and maybe bronzer. They are extremely robust and beautiful, and last for years!&nbsp;</p> <p>As for makeup, I like Clinique and YSL mascara the best. I also use Anastasia eyebrow pencil, and Laura Mercier tightline. Bobbi Brown cream blush is fab, and so is Urban Decay lipstick. I don't wear cover-up make-up on my skin, so maybe others can chime in about that. As far as bras, I have often preferred soft cup ( no underwire) when smaller- was once an A cup- but can cope with underwire for the last decade.
