I have Paige and 7FAMK jeans that are lighter but hold their shape well. I don't even think they were listed as lightweight, they just are. I also have some straight BF jeans (CofH Emerson) that I buy a size smaller and then they are almost skinnies and leave some room to breathe.

For the past three years Uniqlo jeans have been my go-to for work. The price is right and the hemming service is great. Good fabrics too. But I find the black jeans, at least are too thick. I was wearing a pair today, it was in the upper 80s, and they felt too hot.

So far the first pair I collected above, the J Brands, are working well although the fabric shows every dang stain/hair/lint piece. But the fabric weight is feeling good.

I can also recommend Uniqlo’s high waisted ankle length cigarette jeans. Lord knows, the price is right at $40! They are stretchy, so size down. If you find your correct size, they won’t bag out. I ultimately had to go down 2 sizes to get my regular fit, but if you want a looser fit, go down one and belt. I have them in black, and just purchased a pair in white. I pretty much lived in the black ones on our recent vacation. Hmm, maybe I should duplicate.

No particular advice but good luck! Why are the simple things the hardest to buy? And repeating is harder than you would think with rinse/fabrication and cut changes....(not to say body changes to add to the mix!!)

I am sure you will get there though - sounds like a few good options.

Kerry -- I've only tried BR jeans once before and found them to be of high quality. Thanks for the girlfriend jean recommendation.
Bijou -- Never though of NYDJ. They have one Sheri that is made with a "Coolmax" fabric, so it sounds like what I want. Now to find it in the right wash.

I have these - not skinnies obviously but lightweight. I would not normally wear jeans in the summer (too hot) but these I would. I know these are lighter than what you’re looking for but BR seems to have the same cut (girlfriend) and fabrication in a darker wash. Not sure if the darker rinse would make them feel hotter.

So there's this, but it shows almost all light washes. So not much help.

https://www.whowhatwear.com/be.....016/slide3

Here's another, though: https://www.cheatsheet.com/gea.....?a=viewall

Here's what comes up at Nordstrom's. Of course it's all relative what counts as "lightweight." https://shop.nordstrom.com/sr?.....rigin=left

Thank you for all of the comments and suggestions!

DonnaF -- I meant to write Habitual, not Hudson. Habitual is the brand of my favorite old lightweights.
Suz - I actually have a pair of lightweight cotton pants from Uniqlo and a pair of semi lightweight chinos from Zara. Both are not bad, but I just don't reach for them that often. I think I don't feel that fab in them. I'm sure linen pants would be good too, if I could find the right pair.
3Style -- Thanks for the heads up about the Dr. Denim brand!
Gryffin --I've never tried the Gap girlfriend style, thanks for the recommendation.
Chris M -- I will check out those Athletas.
Kate -- Great tip! I'd never have considered COS.
Kkards -- I checked the Gap jeans but they don't have a dark enough wash. I'll keep looking though.

Below are a pair of slim linen jeans per Suz, and next is crop flares which would be cooler than skinnies. Are any of these Hudsons like the ones you own? Skinnies strike me as being sticky hot. Would you wear culottes?

The version I bought was a mid blue shade and finished hem, but the 65% cotton, 34% polyester, and 1% spandex fabrication is a nice lightweight for summer. I have been wearing mine a lot and we have had many 90+ (F) days!

Well, I can tell you one type not to try. I tried a 98% cotton pair from Nordstrom which I had hoped would be lightweight and they were super warm and very tight. Dr Denim Supply Co, Lexy Skinny Jeans.
They are well made and fit a curvy body well, but I ended feeling like they had the deficiencies of both leggings and skinny jeans.

I second the gap girlfriend recommendation. I have jeans, embroidered jeans, black jeans. Cheap and great fit for me. They run slightly big. I’m a 4-6 and the 27 are roomy but that’s how I like them. If you want skinny you might try a size down too.

Nydj straight cuts - Marilyn, Samantha styles. They have dark washes I blends that hold up in heat fairly well. I buy on eBay.

(Straights are my skinnies.)

Look at Athleta “City” pants too - they’re not jeans, but a lightweight synthetic - with pockets. I bought both wide legs and cropped wides and they are fantastic. They have straights, crops, and joggers that look neat and cool. Not inexpensive, but not horribly pricey either.

COS high waisted cropped black skinny. I have 2 pairs of them and they are a lighter weight than most of my other jeans. I found they run small, so I sized up one size. Size up two sizes if you want a looser fit. This is more of an ankle pant than a true cropped pant.

Summary: I need jeans in lightweight fabrics for work (food service, front of house). Dark wash or black, no rips or holes. Prefer finished hem in cropped or ankle lengths. Will consider raw hems.

If you have time and care to read all of the details...

Over the years my work outfit has come down to dark bottoms (usually 5 pocket jeans, for their useful pockets) and white or navy blue button down shirts, usually woven although I have a few knit collared shirts too. This looks professional and I wear it with either a half waist apron or full bib apron, in color black.

Currently I have only 2 pair of lightweight jeans and the regular weight ones are killing me. I need 3 more pairs for laundry efficiency. Average temps where I live/work are 93 F in July and August. 75% of our seating is outside, under shade sails, although it's only 33% humidity and we have a breeze. So I want to be covered but lightweight non clingy fabrics are best. I have been sizing up 2 sizes with skinny jeans to achieve a non-clingy fit and this has been working better than a "legging" fit. I do need to wear a belt.

I would love a couple of cropped options if anyone is out and finds some lightweight dark wash jeans. I am open to all price points under $250. Because I can't feel the fabric on line, it's a lot of work finding the right jean. Thanks for your help.

Here is one pair I own. They feel good but a little heavier than ideal. My other pair is threadbare, from Hudson jeans who are now out of business, so I have no finds for that pair.
