I bought a few over the door hooks that each have three top and three bottom hooks. I put a bunch of belts on the bottom hooks and might try putting a few bags on the top ones. I did a quick search on amazon and found this:

http://www.amazon.com/Jokari-0.....38;sr=1-46

It would only work if you have a regular door to the closet rather than bi-fold or sliding doors.

Lisa, that looks like a great device! I would just have to decide what things to remove from one of the closets to make space for it. And that would be excellent discipline. :)

Or, I could put the bags on a high shelf and get one of these to help me lift them down: http://www.amazon.com/Long-Chr.....038;sr=8-2

I'm interested in ideas too!

I have quite a few bags, and many are oversized. I hate leaving them in the open because they might need dusting if they wait too long between uses.

Right now I have them in their dust bags. They are each stuffed (with a shopping bag filled with paper) to keep their shape and lined up high on the top closet shelf. But I need to *think* about what's inside each dust bag. I have a few in boxes and tried taking pics and taping to the outside of the box, but that's only about four bags worth.

My only idea so far has to do with usurping space on my husband's side of the closet -- but that's a really bad idea. . .

I use one of these for all my bags except large totes. Those sit on the top shelf in my closet.

Before I got my fancy new closets, I had mine on a shelf in the linen closet. The ones that can stand, stand, and the ones that are too slouchy get stacked.

I've been hanging mine, too. I've found that mine are too slouchy for shelving, so this is the best I've come up with. I like that, when I plan my outfits for the week, I can easily pair up the outfits with bags and hang them all in one place.

Oh, I'm a total bag lady. I recently purged my closet and got rid of several (reluctantly!) that I just didn't use all that often, I kept maybe 15 or so that I use a lot. I hang them on hangers, all on their own rod, easy to see and get to and I change my bag nearly every day. This system works well for me. I keep my clutches and evening bags in a separate box, as I don't use those very often and there is no way to hang them.

Having become a little bit of a bag lady (total amateur compared with some of you), I find myself without a good way to store my bags and am looking for some new ideas.

My closet does not have much shelf space, and what there is is way up near the ceiling. Also, I need to be able to see my bags. If I have to open a bunch of dustbags or storage containers to see what I have, I will never bother switching bags.

Anyone have suggestions?
