I think the whole concept of an all white clad family photo on the beach, is simplicity. I think the simpler plainer dress is going to go better with the concept of the photo. I would go barefoot, have the pants rolled up on the men/boys, and keep away from any color--it will stand out too much. Have you thought about adding a colored item on each person for a spot of color: Maybe a statement piece of jewelry for you, a headband for your daughter, a watch or belt for your son. But I did have to train on color composition. Typically, we would tell people not to wear white in photos because it will wash you out. But for some reason, it seems to work in beach photos.
