It's not necessarily a grown-up look, but it's a fun and playful way with a cute skirt.&nbsp;The tall boots are a nice visual pun on knee socks while being less childish than the real thing.</p> <p>I think you can pull it off if you have the mind to, but you'd need to commit to it. I'm off my pencil skirts and this has a different shape.<br />2.&nbsp; The colors are perfect for me - black, grey, white and purple.<br />3. My friend talked me into it.&nbsp;</p> <p>My sister wore a skirt with a similar shape yesterday (see photo 3 - BTW her legs never seem to get cold - she dresses like this all winter) and inspired me to try this one today.&nbsp; &nbsp;I tried it with a white shirt and heeled boots (Photo 1) but then changed because it seemed too schoolgirl-ish.&nbsp; I tried a grey sweater (no photo) but it was too clingy in my midsection so I finally changed to this black skirt and flat boots.&nbsp; At this point I ran out of time and needed to leave (I should have just ditched the skirt and wore pants).&nbsp; It's not my favorite outfit.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>I can't seem to get away from the schoolgirl vibe. It must be the plaid.&nbsp;Is there a way to style this so it fits my style better?&nbsp; Would tights help (no bare knees)?&nbsp;Or should I just get rid of the skirt? It was free so there's no pressure to make it work.&nbsp; I'll just recycle it back at the next clothing exchange.</p> <p> </p>
