Thank you so much for your responses! Some good advice here to try a size up, but it sounds like I may need to actually try on some things in the store, which can be hard to find the time between the little guy and work.

Thank you also for the recs on specific brands to try. suntiger, unfortunately, my Athleta leggings have been bad offenders. My husband asked me the other day if I needed a belt when I was wearing leggings!

I'm thinking I may need to make the switch to wearing like a jogger style yoga pant or something to work out. And as for tights/stockings, I don't even know where to start on what to try

There is a great line at Macy’s called Style & Company that styles exclusively for them. I recently discovered their leggings and wide waistband pull on pants (various lengths and cuts) all under $30. They go on sale frequently. I’m very curvy and have heavier legs with a pooch, and they are great! I’ve experienced the same issues you have with tights and leggings and it’s SO frustrating. I’ve had no issues with these, and I manage a pet store, with a doggie self wash, so I’m constantly squatting, lifting things etc.

Did you ever get a Bella band during pregnancy? They're like a tight cowl thing that you scrunch around your waist. It helps keep pants up and just looks like a long tee peeking out from under your shirt. I found them to be indispensable during the awkward between-sizes phases of pregnancy and postpartum. I would wear them over pants with the fly wide open, and they would stay up and look normal.

Higher rise leggings are a good thing! Mine from Athleta stay put better than the others I've had. Congrats

I have several pair of exercise tights that have a continuous drawstring. This allows me to customize the waist. They are from Zella and Gap. Hosiery without compression or slimming features tends to stay up best. If I need some extra shaping, I wear slimming boy shorts underneath the hosiery.

Liz, my advice is to ignore the sizing on leggings, which can be completely nuts. Wear the size that works, not the size that seems like it should work.

I recently bought some leggings from a popular retailer in an XL just to see how they fit. I am 5'2" and fairly slim, and those leggings were like a tourniquet. They might have fit a small fourth-grader. Insanity.

My sad solution to rolling waistbands on stockings is thigh highs and jockey slip shorts, for the warmth... sizing up helps with the slipping, but then sometimes baggy ankles becomes the next issue...

First congratulations on the little one! :)

As an alternative you could buy jeggings with belt loops so a belt can hold them in place, they are just as comfortable as leggings. American Eagle has jeggings that are super comfy! It helped me eliminate the same fit issue you are having especially since I knew I might lose a little more weight in the future.

I guess I hadn’t thought of sizing up because I wear like an 8 and I’m wearing a M in athleta leggings for example. The waist is loose but the thighs are kinda tight. I mean they are leggings so that’s relative.

Have you tried sizing up? Long or heavy legs can sometimes pull down the top part. I always size up for comfort and rarely have trouble with bagging.

Hi! I'm back after a long break and in need of wisdom. I'm about a year post partum, and my pre-baby body has not quite returned. I'm only like 10 pounds up in weight, but much softer especially around the middle and thighs. Still mostly wearing the same clothes, except I have problems with workout leggings sliding down constantly even worse than before. And now that it's winter, my stockings are rolling down at the waist. WTF I can't be pulling them up all the time at work. What to do?? Thanks for any advice and recommendations.
