thanks everyone - I've appreciate the input, validation & suggestions and yes I do love both my wayfarers and my clubmasters - which apparently according to my daughters are now cool again - after many years of their teenage embarrassment that their mom was so out of it!! - I talked to a friend today and she laughed saying she wouldn't recognize me in anything different - so the plan - is to look for a new pair of wayfarers maybe a bigger frame this time with a bit more ZING - I'll be back with some possibilities soon -

Day & Suz - as much as I love those cat eyes - on you they look SPECTACULAR - I truly love the blue!!! they look frightful on me -

Susie and Mia - Maui Jim's would immediately get taken by my husband!! - I do adore the lightness of them - I've just never been able to find one that I truly love!!

Consistency in her choice of sunnies worked for Jackie! Yours are cool, why change it up unless you are bored? I wear Maui Jim's on the boat and I have had incredible customer service from them but I think of them as gear, not fashion.

I think wayfarers are classic and can be amped up / personalized depending on your color choice for lenses or frames. It's OK to favor just one type of frame -- It's generally a sign that you know what works for your face shape. I prefer lenses that tilt up at the ends because that works for me. Not all cat-eye frames work for me but many do. Here are my fashion forward frames.

I saw a fun pair of Wayfarers last year with lots of colour. The ones I saw were a bit different than this, but this must be the current crop.

I am super fond of modified cats' eye shapes; maybe you could find something like that if it works on your face?

FWIW, I think RayBan Wayfarers are the best sunnies on the planet and the only sunglasses I wear - with prescription lenses to boot. I used to have a pair of RayBan Aviators too but they were lost in our many moves from country to country. My next pair of sunnies will be another pair of Wayfarers.

So I'm in the market for a new pair of shades. As you can see from my profile shot I've tended to favor the traditional look in sunglasses as my style tends toward classic and sporty. Additionally, sunglasses are gear when sailing season arrives. They must be polarized, pretty hardy and allow the sweat to dissipate. My current inventory includes 4 boring pairs of ray-bans - tortoise and gold clubmasters (the ones in the photo), black & silver clubmasters, black wayfarers, clear amber wayfarers. Not looking to go too far out there but I am looking for something to spice things up just a bit!! Just what are some of the more current styles that won't look like I'm trying too hard - I just wish they weren't so expensive - don't want to make a costly mistake. your thoughts and suggestions are welcome!! - thx
