Yep, I either do a half tuck or wear a tight T that I pull down in the front and scrunch up in the back to expose the tops of the flaps.

Yeah, I know it's hard to find right tops, they are few and far in between. Modgirl, I would love to try Joe's jeans after your description. I just never seen them in my corner of Europe.

Have we seen your rear view in the Joe's jeans? They are pretty good for me. Have you tried James Jeans? They have an articulated pocket (there's strategic seaming) that forms your tush. I have two pairs and they are like a push up bra for your rear view.

Anya, I would love photos of your examples and (not to be inappropriate) your derriere! The ideas you've posted sound great, so I need to find the right tops, and of course tops are my major struggle. If too short, danger of muffin top; if too long, what's the point of enhancing the rear view?

I wear a higher-rise pants ( maybe an inch under my navel), and tops that end on the belt, or 2 inches lower. This way, there's no need for tucking. I don't actually have jeans with flaps, but I like to wear mine with either tunic length, or short tops as to not bisect my already minute derrière. I try to find ruched and/or printed and or draped top to wear when I chose them short, to give some sophistication. Otherwise is too much "jeans and a tee" look. Also I have some wowen button downs that have a belt incorporated, so It shows the above-my-waist length, then flare over the actual misdection but end happily just above my behind. Also you can achieve an interesting look by layering a fitted top with cardi that is short in the back and long in the front. Also, i have a hipster plaid ( black and red) button down that I wear open a black tank . This is not a shaped "femme" belted look so I have a waist surrender ( boxy shit) over the top , and being not very long the rear view is clear. I'm not very coherent but I can post pics if you are interested in my formulas.

Another flat bootied girl here! I wear Hudsons and Paiges to enhance my booty. Usualy do a half tuck in the back - or a short cropped jacket/top!

Hello to my fellow flat-bootied people! :-D

I usually tuck or half-tuck with flap pocketed jeans (mine are Hudsons as well).

I don't see why tucking in the back wouldn't work - I'm imagining a silhouette similar to a waterfall cardi.. ?

I wear the Signature Bootcuts. But I've always been against wearing longer tops because of stubby leg fear, so I don't know how it'd look with a long top over the pockets. I think, as long as it's not super tight/thin fabric, it would look just fine.

I'm wondering if I can do a reverse tuck where the back is tucked and the front hangs loose...

Thanks for the stitching advice, MaryK!

I just ignore the pockets and figure if they show at all under my tops, it's all good because my rear is so flat! LOL

I did find I had to stitch the corners of the flaps down because they tended to curl up.

Rae, that's a great explanation. Which cuts do you wear? And how versatile are they as far as being able to wear longer tops without the pockets looking funny underneath?

Most of my jeans are hudsons (hubs rly rly likes em, lol). A lot of times I'll wear a slouchy tee/knit top and kinda drape it around my hip area almost like a partial tuck. If I do tuck, it's from the front... the back of the top always kinda hangs down over the waistband and covers the yoke and very top of the flap pockets. Sorry if it's a sad or confusing explanation...

I'd really like to try a pair of jeans with pocket flaps to enhance my lame rear view. I've tried Hudsons and found a couple of styles that fit well. But I've held back on pulling the trigger because I'm not sure how to wear tops that will show the pockets without being unflattering to my rectangle shape.

Does anyone have suggestions or examples of how they wear jeans to show off the back pockets? Is tucking inevitable? Are there other options?
