I bought a navy coat similar to the red last year in size 10 when I usually wore a 6 or 8 (Canadian sizing, now the 10 is a little tight on me b/c I am bigger). Also, I would try to come up with the extra $49, before the size 10 disappears too. You want a fitted look in the waist but you do want more room too (again for layering when needed). Having a tight waist on a coat isn't as great as having a little room. It's the look you are after.
