Sylvia, looking at your pictures again, I think longer bangs (as opposed to fringe) will look beautiful - past cheekbone length, that you can sweep aside. Would also look gorgeous in up-dos. And because your hair is so fine, a layered bob will help add body effortlessly. For a more dramatic look, a bob angled sharply forward would be lovely!

Thank you all for your thoughful replies and even going as far as getting that whole page of hair cuts for me Helen. I'm seriously considering going to the bob again. Only problem is that I have no idea if my hair stylist is any good. I don't like my old one so getting someone new... Fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted!

I'm likin' the straight (as opposed to curls) shag.

Have to tell you, you look very accessible, very pretty in the last photo in the second row. But this would be as opposed to hip, as you look in the last photo of the third row. I like that one a lot too, but would go shorter for a change.

Ya. LOL. I got opinions.

Hi Sylvie,
I really like the 2 and 3rd picture in the bottom row. They suit your face shape and your hair type. I particularly like the beveling in the bottom part of the cut. I know those styles aren't really long enough to do a ponytail but I know that updo's can be done even with hair that is above shoulder length.

Hi Sylvia! Great blog, btw! I think a shoulder-length - just past nape of neck - bob with fringe bangs would work for you, perhaps slightly angled longer in back (as you mentioned you have an 'oblong' face - which I don't really see, but anyway!) And definitely go for a bold colour! Fun!

The cut would be long enough for a ponytail (important to you), but clean and sophisticated enough to match your fashion forward style! It's crucial to find a very good stylist - if she/he gives you a precise cut, styling it everyday will be so easy - and it sounds like you are not one who loves to fuss and fight with her hair daily! (I'm the same!) Low-maintenance, high style cut is important then! A quick google search for bob hairstyles yields many pics to consider - just keep yours shoulder length:
http://www.google.ca/search?tb......r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&fp=76765ad43f33bfd1&biw=1024&bih=677

Second, I'm not sure what hair products are available in Singapore, but be on the lookout for "texturizing cream", "anti-frizz cream" and "finishing cream" (preferably with humidity-fighting power!). All of these will help tame the frizzies and style hair easily when dry, and add a nice soft finish. Good luck - and can't wait to hear what you decide to do!

I have been using Mousse from Pantene- it's made specifically for fine hair and is called triple Action Volume. I use that before blow drying- upside down, then with a large round brush to give it volume at the top. Then I use Short Sexy Hair Shatter Separate and Hold spray to give it some pieciness, and set it with a Garnier Fructis hairspray (one of the higher levels of hold).

I like the last hairstyle from the virtual images. I have straight, fine, flat hair, but it's amazing what a bodyifying mousse and an upside down blow dry can do for it- plus the right styling products to keep it looking that way.

I didn't read the whole post, but I think a chin length bob with blunt, straight-across bangs would suit you very well. I think you have something very like that in your collage in the bottom row. Of all the photos, I think I preferred the cuts when you had bangs, and your hair was soft and had some length (wasn't pixie-short).

I wonder if any of you can help me find my next hairstyle. I've got difficult hair and am not sure what to do with it. I've explained it all on my blog and added pictures there of some of my styles throughout my life, but would really love Angie's opinion and from all you ladies. I know you all dare to be honest! You can either reply here or on my blog.
