Our Annie is also 7 and has has weird hip issues since she was about 2, but we've never figured out exactly what it is, it comes and goes. We've had her on Recovery Complex which is made here in Vancouver (and all the local vets swear by it) since her first flare up. It's a nutritional supplement, so can't hurt, all natural and doesn't interfere with any treatment as far as I know, and certainly seems to help.
