Are you thinking of getting bangs like the lady in the picture? It is an awsome style. You said you keep your bangs at chin length, unless I misunderstood. I think you should definately get the cut exactly like hers with the shorter bangs and all. It's perfect. I love the red stripes in dark hair too.

This is a graduated bob! It is my cut - except I do not have the bangs. This cut grows out rather gracefully, believe it or not. I routinely go 2 months, and when I get it cut, it's not because of the length it's because I need a dose of color by then. I have had this cut in various lengths - from even shorter than this, to much longer. Somehow, it works.

I think the back will totally work and give you more time between cuts. Just worried about the front part, with those bangs. However, if your hairdresser will give you free or inexpensive bang trims between cuts, then go for it. I think you would look amazing in this cut! I think it's a great cut for short people, because it gives us extra height at the top of the crown and works with our overall proportions.

Do go with the drastic angled bang in the front. So much fun. You can tuck those longer pieces behind your ears.

Tell the hairdresser you want HEIGHT at the crown! The more layers they put in the back, the more height you get on top.

Maya, that cut looks awesome! I've had a similar style, though the longer front section and angled bangs were a *little* less drastic in my case. I like having that shape & length in the back because I have the same problem as you do when the hair in back gets long or isn't cut with enough layers - it's just bulky and drives me nuts. (My hair is probably finer than yours, but I have a LOT of it, and without a good cut it is very flat and shapeless.)

I can definitely picture you with both the style and the slices of red. I think that type of colour would be fab as regrowth would not be an issue.

I like this style, its so hard to make a decision on hairstyles, I always regret drastic changes but would really like to try something new too. I have an appointment for today and got no idea what to so with it. If nothing else I need a tidy up before going back to work next week. Maybe you could take this picture to the salon and ask the sylists advice, saying that though most stylists are scirror happy and the more they are allowed to take off the happier they become lol!!

The reason why this cut appealed to me, besides being cute, is because the back is significantly shorter than my hair. Whenever I get my hair cut, there is a lot of volume and fullness in the back which I love...but a few weeks after the cut, it ends up being too long to maintain the volume and starts to go flat and limp. So the logical solution would be to just go REALLY short each time, except I do not like to have the front of my hair any shorter than my chin. So in that sense, this haircut is perfect because it will give me the coverage I want in the front and the volume I want in the back.

Two things I don't pinch pennies on are shoes and hair. I have found that you truly get what you pay for with haircuts (at least for me since I get my hair razored, and a bad razor cut is a frizzy disaster). I'd rather get three or four fabulous haircuts a year than 10 disappointing ones.

I think it would look great on you Maya. If you wanted to retain its original sassiness you would need regular trims, but it looks like it would grow out well.

Super cute. My haircut started like that and I've been saving money on haircuts too and it's grown out very nicely. I am itching to get a trim because the back is losing a bit of it's "bounce" but otherwise it still looks fine. I love that style of haircut.

I suspect that this is the type of cut that would need frequent trims, because hair grows at different rates on different parts of the head. I don't know much about this, perhaps Rena and Taylor can confirm or deny!

It's very cute, but 4 months out I would think it would just look like what you have now. Consider finding a cheaper salon and going more frequently. Once you have the initial shape you want, it should be easier for another stylist to maintain it.

I have severely curbed my haircuts to save money but I'm losing patience so I finally booked an appointment for two weeks from now. I'm thinking of trying a new style. I don't know who this girl is (found her by Googling), but I adore her hair! I am hoping for something that will look nice even when I have to go four months without a cut. It is pretty similar to what I have now but a lot shorter in the back and with angled bangs. I wish I could get the color too! It looks so fab. But I wonder if I'm just being swayed by the fact that she is gorgeous and has very cooperative hair. Hmm..
