The tops of my feet cannot take pressure but undone laces tucked into the side works for many sneakers and oxfords ( or remove the laces if the shoes will still stay on your feet.)<br /> Another brand to try Fit Flops. I just have to make sure the heel is higher up (because they often seem like the whole footbed is raised up, like a platform shoe).&nbsp;</p> <p>Joy, I learned yesterday in my dance lesson that a flat such as the ones you suggested are going to be a problem for me. The heel is cut so low, that once the insert is, um, inserted my heel is almost popping out in back. I'm going to need another shoe for tango now (for the leader/"man's" part, anyway--it's normally a flat shoe). I'm being recommended a dance sneaker, and have traditionally found them way too narrow...ugh....but that's an entirely different problem.&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks again, everyone! They have a contoured footbed (Birkenstock-type) with an elevated heel or you can remove it and use your insert. To decrease stress the doc wants me always in a slight heel and no bare feet. I just picked up some inserts with a very slight heel of a little under .5". </p> <p>We have always had the Japanese-style setup of no shoes in the house. I have some slippers but they're pretty loose. I rarely wear them unless I'm really cold. I suppose I could wear a shoe that's dedicated to home wear but I'd love it to be comfy and not feel too constricting...I love shoes but really love being barefoot too. </p> <p>Insert measures about 4.5" x 2.25"</p> <p>Any ideas? Thank you.... </p>
