I never match earrings to necklaces. I do, however, match bracelet to necklace, or bracelet to earrings. For me, my wrists are usually far enough away from my head/neck so as to not compete. I love rings so I usually wear multiple rings on both hands.

I don't wear earrings at all, so it's not an issue for me. I tend to choose one statement piece of jewelery and leave it at that- usually a necklace.

I received 'Style A to Zoe' by Rachel Zoe as a Christmas present last year. Her look is a little Boho for my liking but she offers these words of wisdom,

'Resist competing accessories. In most cases, a single jumbo cocktail ring is plenty. Don't pair oversized chandelier earrings with a choker. If you want to wear a necklace with giant statement earrings, go with beads or chains that hang to your chest or longer. If it's the choker, then hairline slim hoops can work or, even better, studs. While you're at it, if you decide to go with the choker, avoid a waist cinched belt. Otherwise, it's just too many tight grasps for one body.'

I've unconsciously developed a formula over the past six months that I usually stick to-

If I wear glasses, I wear a scarf or a necklace, OR I wear "statement" earrings, but not both. Usually I opt for a scarf or necklace.
If I'm wearing contacts, I'll typically wear a scarf/necklace with smaller, more delicate earrings - thin hoops, or drop earrings.

I usually look for my accessories to "go with" my outfit rather than match each other - for example, pearls might accent the white in a white and green printed top, or turquoise emphasizes an accent color on my favorite specs, or my red/orange/gold/brown printed scarf looks really rich against a gray dress or cardigan.

Sometimes all my jewelry matches, sometimes not...I keep the metals the same, all stearling or all gold...I tend to over accessorize

I sort of struggle with this too, but in general I don't try to match my jewelry exactly, I just stay within the same color and/or theme. It's usually necklace OR earrings for me. When I wear earrings they're always really big so I don't feel the need for a necklace, and same thing with necklaces. I like big jewelry, but it's probably different with daintier pieces. I don't have much experience there.

I see bracelets/rings as a separate entity and I'll pair a big necklace with a big bracelet (same with earrings, etc).

If i have a necklace on i wear stud earrings. If wearing large earrings i don't wear a necklace. I only wear bracelet or dressy ring, my watch is on the same hand as my engagement ring so i wear nothing else on that hand. I stick with the either or method for hands/ wrists and neck/ ears x

What do you do?

Normally if I have a necklace on I wear plain earrings, normally studs or short drop earrings that are a matching colour or metal.

If I am wearing bigger or longer earrings then I tend not to wear a necklace at all.

Accessorizing is something that I really struggle with so I would love to hear what you do.

What about bracelets and rings. Normally I only wear a bracelet if I am not wearing a watch and I don't normally wear any other rings apart from my wedding and engagement rings, which are small and understated.
