I am all about nautical. (I was wearing a striped nautical top the day you posted this thread).

I've actually had a sailboat for the past 10 years or so. I decided I would go nautical (navy and white) for my summer wardrobe (the rest of the year it's mostly black, white and red) and every single summer I have had a slew of choices at all price points to upgrade if I want to. As well as, every new summer I have something stashed in my closet that already matches a new trend.

And now thanks to YLF I have learned that (1) a striped boatneck top is Parisian chic that goes with everything, any season and (2) I can mix black and navy.
So now my combinations have tripled, and my fall/winter wardrobe has expanded hugely!

Who says you have to own a boat to dress nautical?
I'm really in love with striped shirts and that whole sailor preppy look. When you put together red and navy they just become the perfect pallet for any outfit. The colors are clean, crisp, and classic. And if you happen to add some jeans and some gold accessories, then you are channeling Nautical, a classical look that never goes out of style.
Check out my rendition of nautical at:
