I like both items. If you are sporting the sweater/jumper with any layers you like to do (I put LS T's under my winter knits) and it is comfy, I vote keep. Same for the jacket. Grey is lovely on you by the way.

That coat is to die for. I'd snap one up in a heartbeat if it was in my budget this year. It looks gorgeous on you, and the sleeve length looks just right. As for fit, do you tend to wear more fitted layers? Or do you wear bulkier tops? I can see where the chest might be a hair too snug.

I think the coat is lovely and agree that it may look/feel snug over the pullover. Try it with some other items and see how that works. If it is just the smallest bit snug across the chest you could have the buttons moved over slightly which is very easy to do this style. It might be the perfect adjustment as one size up may be too roomy.

I love the coat! My only thought is, with so many sweaters and tops being oversized or with large, dropped armholes, how often would you wear this coat? It might be worth it to take a look at your favorite tops. If you have a lot of fitted tops and sweaters, then this coat will get more wear than if they are oversized. (Almost all of my tops are oversized that's why I'm saying this, so yeah I'm projecting and it may be a non-issue for you.)

I like the fit of the pullover - perfectly fashionable. (And I just saw that you returned it).

I don't think the coat works over the pullover though - too fitted. Will probably work well over less bulky items. Sleeve length is 100%.

The coat will probably fit a lot smoother over a non-"sticky" knit. That sweater was probably the bulkiest type of item you'd wear under it. Try it with some of your more usual knits that fit you well and see. The pulling may also have been a trick of the camera angle.

Also -- frankly -- some of this may come down to personal preference. Angie always says that she wears her own tailored fits a bit looser than most people do. I think I do the same. Not oversized by any means, but with a bit of ease. Other people prefer a very strict tailored line. So if you are not uncomfortable and feel you can do push ups, I am all for this beautiful coat, that looks amazing on you. Especially without the sweater. ;)

Thank you for all your feedback.

I've packed up the Vince sweater to return tomorrow. It's far too expensive not to be perfect.

I'm going to try on the peacoat with a few other types of layers to make sure it doesn't look too tight in the chest/ribcage. It didn't feel tight to me there, but I have to admit I was more focused on my usual problem area, my shoulders/back. That part was fine. It may sound strange, but I have to feel that I can do pushups in my jackets for me to ever wear them. ;)

I don't think the coat is too snug AT ALL. Indeed, you are wearing it with a very thick sweater underneath, and I imagine that is as tight as it will ever get. To go up a size for that ever-so-slight (hardly noticeable) "pull" at the bust would be absurd. The shoulders fit perfectly, the waist is obviously perfect or even big, and the sleeves are perfect, too. A size larger will be to big everywhere else and would not be worth it at all, IMO.

However, I am not a big fan of the sweater. It seems either stiff or slightly small or perhaps just overall not quite right. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but it just seems too severe.

These are both beautiful -- but I think the fit is a bit snug on both. I also notice the pulling. Did you try the size up to see? I don't think the sleeve length on the jacket is a problem, and it should be alterable even if they are too long.

Two beautiful items on you. Is the sweater itchy? I'd love to find a wool turtleneck that isn't.

The sweater is very nice but I notice a pull at the front base of the turtleneck, I don't think that should be there. Was the next size too bulky? Or maybe they did not make enough room for the shape of the turtleneck?
You need to be a knitter to notice these things... I think a sweater at that price point should be finished properly. The rest looks good to me but not the neck.

I was going to comment on the chest area too - it looks like it's pulling /too tight there. Double breasted coats are the hardest, aren't they? I have to admit my eye went straight to that, and I didn't even notice the sleeves - lol. It's a gorgeous coat though.

I love the fit of the Vince sweater on you. I think the sleeve length on the coat is fine too; that's how I wear mine. I think they're too short on the model. Can you move your arms easily with the sweater under the jacket? It looks like it might be a little snug through the rib cage but that may just be the pictures. It's a beautiful coat.

This is an update of earlier NAS posts.

I received the smaller size of the Vince textured cable knit sweater. I think it fits better, but I'm wondering if it really is meant to be more oversized and boxy?

Also, Angie recommeded I try on the Burberry peacoat with a bulkier winter layer, so I put it on over the Vince sweater. It still gives me room in the shoulders (my biggest problem area) a I can move my arms/shoulders freely. I'm wondering if the sleeves are way too long, or if I'll need to see if they can easily be shortened? Thoughts?

Thanks!
