It looks like you're really paying attention to the details of the fit, which is so important when deciding between sizes. Based on your comparison, it seems like neither size is giving you the exact look or comfort you're going for. If you're unsure about the Caslon Knit Blazer, it might be worth returning it, especially since you've already found great pieces from this year's NAS. When it comes to maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, both in fitness and fashion, be sure to check out Fit and Strong Life for tips on how to look and feel your best!

Angie - It is indeed helpful to compare sizes because the fit is never the same from one item to the next. Especially this past NAS. Thanks for the help!

When we are unsure about a fit, it helps to compare sizes. I do that, and suggest it to my clients. You did that, and it cleared things up! Enjoy your new blazer :)

Firecracker (Sharan) - I agree that the Small looks better than the X-Small for that oversized, casual look I am interested in trying out this fall. Thanks for looking!

Star - I agree that the front view makes me pause but I think for the front blazer view, rolling up the sleeves will help a lot with the look. Thanks for looking!

Jenni NZ - I am with you in liking the larger size more, because I really want to try out the oversize blazer trend. This blazer is so soft I think I'll reach for it at those times when I would have grabbed a cardigan. Thanks for looking!

April - A great insight from Stacy London. This blazer is a very strong will be useful in the fall, so I'm going to keep the larger size in anticipation of it becoming a workhorse. If I never end up reaching for it, I can always return it later, thanks to Nordstrom's policy I have time. Thanks for looking!

Angie - I hadn't considered shrinkage after washing, but a great point. I'm going to keep the small because I'd like to try out the oversized blazer trend. And I think it's going to become a workhorse for our milder autumns. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the comparison, Lisa!

I'm nodding along with Sharan. I larger size does hang better at the back! I anticipate a little shrinkage in the wash too. I vote keep the Small and enjoy. Good for your mild Autumns :)

Hi Lisa - my new filter is the Stacy London test: "If it's not a hell yes, it's a no." Seems like this one is strong might be useful instead of a hell yes.

I can see what you say about both sizes I suppose, but I still like the original one. My own experience with a softer less formal blazer was I just wore it and wore it, so much more comfortable.
I think I would be a Yay myself but you must be happy of course.

There is something about the fit of this blazer (in both sizes) that I am not loving, hence I did not comment on the first post. If you don't feel great in either I agree send them back. Or Next, as Angie would say :) That said, let us see what she thinks.

Lisa, I really like the look of the small size blazer on you. I agree with you that it has the more casual look of the oversized trend, without looking too big. I don't see an issue with the back flipping out. (I can't see much of what you are describing at this size.) And I bet if you aren't standing with your arms in front of you to hold the phone for a photo, the back probably hangs just fine. I do think the smaller size may not hang as well in back, given what you say about where the vent starts on your body. So I'd encourage you to keep and enjoy the new blazer with the rest of your great NAS finds!

Hello.

I had a couple of comments to try the smaller size of the Caslon Knit Blazer from this post.

Here's the comparison. Excuse the unstyled outfits, I wore white jeans to have a strong contrast against the blazer to try to show the fit.

1. Caslon Blazer in Small - Front

From the front, the blazer looks slightly oversized.
I thought the fit of the Small would be a nod to the oversized, more casual, blazer trend, but if it looks too big, then it'll have to go back.

2. Caslon Blazer in Small - Side View

The side view is where things may look a little off? There's a little fishtail near the backside.

3. Caslon Blazer in Small - Fish tails

Here's another look at what I'm calling fishtails.

4. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Front

From the front, the X-Small blazer looks more form fitting. This fit is reminding me of my structured blazers, which fit similar to this. I was hoping a knit blazer would be less formal looking though.

5. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Side View

The side view is again where the fit looks off to me. Now it's got a bit of flare near the backside.

6. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Flaring Out

Here's a close up of what is flaring out. I noticed that in the smaller size, the split hem in the back starts exactly at the top of my backside, which is why it is flaring out. The larger size was longer so that seam is slightly lower which is why it doesn't flare, and probably why it fishtails a little instead.

I have plenty of great pieces from this year's NAS, so this blazer may end up going back since it doesn't seem like I'm loving the fit on this piece.

Thanks for looking!
