You know I had not thought of these items as being "hard edge" but I guess they are. I already know I like the moto jacket style regardless of what I call it, and the skirt is definitely an experiment. A little hard edge would be totally ok with me. Maybe it's a conceptual replacement for menswear somewhere in the back of my mind :-)</p> <p><b>Thistle </b>yes, I learned earlier this spring about the "hit rate" on buying shoes ordered online. Have to be prepared for a LOT of returns. I wish I could do more shoe shopping in stores but I usually do not find many choices that I like.&nbsp;Returning boots is a bit more of a pain than shoes because the boxes are larger and it takes more shopping bags to haul them into the stores etc. :-)</p> <p><b>Author Linda</b> thanks! </p> <p><b>kkards</b> I was&nbsp;searching by heel height, color, and price range. Yes that Halogen skirt seems like it might be visually slimming a lot like a tube skirt. I found it by searching on Petites. You are so right on boots, it's all about the fit and how they look on the foot. I have found most of the EF sandals I've looked at lately to be "clunky" somehow to my eye but these boots do not skew that way to me. I have an Eileen Fischer wool one in a slightly brownish grey that is a super workhorse,&nbsp;and I will wear it until it disintegrates. These are a few&nbsp;items on my fall/winter list, and I found choices for some of&nbsp;them. &nbsp;I can do returns easily to local stores so will probably order these today.&nbsp; These clothing items all need to be petites.&nbsp; I am a&nbsp; bit underwhelmed so far but will reserve judgement and enjoy the ride! </p> <p>&nbsp;- pencil or tube skirt in a color other than black or grey, that can be styled fairly casually.&nbsp;I like Halogen and have other items of this brand.</p> <p>-&nbsp;moto-style sweater in a color other than grey (which I already have).&nbsp; I have found Caslon knits to stretch out and look sloppy pretty quickly&nbsp;in the past, their fabrications don't seem too sturdy,&nbsp;so have low expectations for this one.&nbsp; </p> <p>-&nbsp;black ankle boots to wear with skirts/tights, with a low heel, and no open toes, cutouts etc. Found several options and am leaning toward the EF ones as first choice, and will probably order a couple of different ones. </p> <p>- turtlenecks in merino wool...nothing, all I found was cashmere which is not what I want right now. Also checked regular sizing for cropped styles, nothing there either. </p> <p>Would love to hear any comments! </p>
