Angie, that probably means I should get rid of the jacket, right? I may hold onto it for now, though, just as a baseline to compare anything better to. And thanks on the rest!

And thanks, Jackie! I'm glad I'm not alone on issues with leather clothing.

Fun haul Of course the dress is fantastic! I like everything else, and you know I'm really liking the grey moto on you. I think it looks really cute front and back. Wear it and enjoy. It adds a wee hard edge, but not too much. It seems to have the feel of a little cardi but the edge of a moto. I totally get what you're saying about the leather. I feel that way too.

Diana, thanks for the suggestion! I love the look of that jacket, but have a feeling I wouldn't really wear a leather-looking indoor jacket much. (I love leather clothes on other people, but they seem like they'd be a little aggressive or trying-too-hard or something on me.) And I didn't even see that the dress came in gray too -- that must've gone really quickly.

Thanks, Kellygirl! I do see what both of you mean about the jacket. Since I have it already and I do like the look, I may hold onto it for now, but not cut the tags off or anything. And about the length of the cardigan. I may try it over skinnies to see how I like it. I could also try ordering it in a size down and see if that's a little shorter.

Love 1 and 2. The striped top with the slim skirt is fantastic on you. The dress is awesome too. I think the grandpa cardigan is cute but a little long. I could see it over black skinnies and a low contrast top so that the sweater is the focal point. If you love it, you should keep it. The grey jacket is nice but I would love to see you in something more drapey like the jacket Diana linked. Great haul! You are too cute!

I love the dress and striped tee. I'm jealous you snagged the dress - I wanted the grey but it sold out in a flash, and now the black is sold out too.

I like the pattern of the cardi but I think it's a bit too long for you.

I think I agree with Shevia about the jacket. It almost looks too soft. Did you consider the KUT draped jacket that Kari and I got? I think you might like it.

Gracie and Gigi, I think the problem was just that they had pretty thin soles (they were the Franco Sarto Hawks) and I liked them enough that I just kept wearing them everywhere for a while. I think there were a few days of all-day city walking stuff in there too. Will have to rotate these a little more with other shoes than the last ones!

Thanks, Shevia! That definitely makes sense, although I'm not sure whether a structured jacket is even out there to fit me.

Gigi and E, thanks for making me feel better about the back view! Gigi, the material is a soft knit, so that makes sense, and thanks for reassuring me that this isn't just an issue for people with a few extra pounds.

I am also a big fan of the tee and skirt and love the new flats. Great dress. Totally get why you like the cardi and think you should go with your heart on that. Not sure about the last jacket, I sort of want it to be more structured if that makes sense. You look terrific regardless!

I love all these, Aubergine! Especially the dress and the t-shirt. And the cardigan looks like a gorgeous texture. I like the idea of wearing that cardigan with some edgy boots, like you described.

Your back view is fine. It's what I would expect for a topper like this—it looks like the material is quite fluid (rayon?), so it's not going to be able to have clean lines like a thick cotton or linen jacket would. I often get this same effect of bunching on top of my rear end when I wear certain cardigans, depending on the fit and the material. It really can't be helped when you're moving around.

I'm glad your flats are comfy. You look great in them! I sure hope they last more than two months. I sure hope the pair that you wore out wasn't something expensive!

Great haul! My favorite pieces are 1) the dress (love your Allsaints-lite description!) - it has fabulous details on the skirt and neck and the fit is terrific on you. 2) The "granny" cardi, lol, serious love for that piece it's so cozy and looks comforting and the colors are so good on you. I'd also like to see it with jeans or slacks. And I can't believe you wore out a pair of flats in two months! what where you up to?

Thanks, Rabbit! I'd kind of dithered over keeping this skirt, which I'd ordered a while back, but seeing it with this top actually helped persuade me to keep it.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and styling ideas for the cardigan. Maybe I should just own the fact that I like a little granny-ness? I do have black moto boots that would be fun to try (although no cold-weather sneakers), and I could definitely see it making sense with pants more than skirts.

E and Suz, the tee isn't something I'd necessarily think would be my cup of tea (or mug of coffee, which is actually more my cup of tea than tea), but it really caught my eye for some reason.

E, you caught onto my sneaky plan! I'd taken a picture from the back that I didn't post because it's … not great. But not awful either, I don't think. I think I'm short enough and have enough back fat that this is just pretty much how things look on me when they work from the front. Including most of my cardigans and knit tops.

To keep me honest, here it is:

I love the tee on you with the skirt! That IS my cup of tea, LOL. (Don't you love YLF? Everyone is different.) The dress looks great, too -- it's clear you are happy with it and that is always a good sign.

I also love Firecracker's ideas for styling the cardigan. I think you can make it work for you. And it never hurts to have something like that around.

I find the topper tougher to judge but if it feels good to you and looks good with some of your things, I'd say it is a keep.

I love that dress! And your enthusiastic expression in the photo. The flats are lovely too.

The tee is not my personal cup of tea (pun intended; I'm sorry, I couldn't resist), but it looks really good on you & adds a bit of edge. I really like the way you've styled it!

The topper looks like a good length for skirts, yay! But wasn't the issue with your other jacket attempts the back view? As long as it looks good in the back, I think you've found your topper.

And I don't understand: there's a problem with a cardigan looking grandmotherly? j/k I agree w Firecracker that you can style that into a success!

Great choices, Aubergine! Love the shoes--you really rock ballet flats. The dress is so fun and looks great on you--definitely a keeper. Love the tee over the narrow skirt, too. The sweater is so cozy looking. It does have an old-fashioned vibe but still looks current. It's more of a casual look; I think it would look more intentionally retro-hip with some tougher footwear (moto boots, if you've got something like that?) or sneakers. I'd keep! And yes, it looks like you've found a non-cardigan topper--good work! I like that moto-style jacket on you. Looks like a good fit.

The rest of the NAS stuff I originally ordered arrived. (First round is here.) This batch turned out to be really heavy on the black, but, to be fair, so is my wardrobe. Onto the stuff!

First is this Kensie dress, which I really love. The picture doesn't really show it as well as the website does, but the cut is very distinctive and kind of has an Allsaints-lite feel. There's a nice cowl neckline and, even better, this cool, drapey, swingy, hip-hiding pocket detail on the skirt. I think this will be a good dress for throwing on and instantly looking put-together in colder weather.

Next is an oversized striped t-shirt I threw in because it looked like fun. I don't really have any other tees that are truly oversized and I'm really enjoying the breeziness and the hi-lo hemline.

Third is an oversized cardigan in a lace/brocade pattern that combines black with a warm neutral. Like I was going to pass up that one. Part of me likes it a lot, while part of me wonders if it looks a little like a giant grandma cardigan. Since it's pretty inexpensive, it's certainly something I could break out every once in a while (maybe over something sleek and black) without it having to be the most-worn or most versatile thing ever.

Fourth is a black/gray tweedy jacket because I apparently haven't learned my lesson. I'm showing it both open and closed, although I'd mostly wear it open. Did I finally find a non-cardigan topper that actually works on me?

Finally, I'm wearing the Louise et Cie black flats in all these pictures and decided to keep. In fact, I'm wearing them today. They're really comfy and cushiony and will be a nice replacement for my black d'orsay flats that somehow got worn out in only 2 months.

I was also really curious about the Halogen boiled wool coat, which they didn't have in my store, so I ordered it in two sizes, one in purple and one in gray. But, other than that, this is probably it for NAS for me. Well, I also got a robe and a running top. And a running/gear jacket which I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping. But those don't really count, right?

Comments and suggestions are welcome!
