I found the waist not tight but definitely *fitted* in the sized-down size (I didn’t try my normal size to see how the more boyfriendy fit looked because I wasn’t seriously considering them, just doing a quick curiosity try-on). But I’ve gotten used to years of loose or baggy waists by the time I get a size that fits my hips/thighs. I must have missed some people's comments but anyway, I'm totally confused at this suggestion. I went down a size and if anything, they are loose on my waist, which is not exactly at its firmest at the moment, LOL.&nbsp;</p> <p>The "trend" part of the equation is the higher waist, which makes them different from my older BF styles.&nbsp;</p> <p>I won't get a chance to show mine again in outfits until the fall because of travel, but I'm pretty sure they don't look "round" on me either -- just looser in the thigh and tapered down. And I suspect the model is very skinny and probably couldn't size down enough to get a size that actually works on her body. Mine are snugger than hers all round -- skimming on the thighs and calves but with less room than she apparently has in them.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sorry that the other items did not though. They would have been great paired! I have ordered the pants but don't have high hopes I will get a good fit from them either and expect to return. Also, the wool check feels a little conservative for me, even with the cropped length. And I have to say, it is SO hard to try on wool on a hot and humid day; it can't help but be itchy even with the lining. :(</p> <p><b>The JC slingbacks are going back.</b> Too high, too pointy, and run small (on me).
