Thanks banofi and aquamarine!

Laura thanks for suggesting talbots. That so work for me so I'll have to remember to stop in from time to time. They always have shipping charges so I avoid them when I'm ordering things online.

Chris, does Talbots work for you? I picked up a really nice black ponte sheath from them earlier this summer. Let me see if I can find a link.

Yay Susie, love being shoe twins with you! We'll have to share styling tips of course.

Thanks so much Angie!

Jaileen, thanks for asking.I play flute and piccolo in a large concert band and a small chamber group, and I sing and play flute in a small rock/folk combo that plays in a hospital. I've been an amateur musican since elementary school; it's a huge part of my life.

Smittie yes you are right I do wear a lot of black footwear but after being on YLF for a year and a half I have branched out quite a bit. Burgundy is one of the new footwear colors I'm loving - got leather ankle boots last year and now these loafers.

Thanks Style Fan, & Jenn!

Thanks Suz.I really want a LBD in black and I've learned through trial and error that I have a poison eye for even the smallest ruffles, so not interested in that blue dress but I do remember seeing it and was very nice on Smittie.

I think a couple of great items to jumpstart your fall refresh is a GREAT NAS. That's about how it worked out for me, as well. I tried a ton and kept just two items, and I'm totally happy with that.

So glad you are keeping the coat. It is stunning on you. I love your shoe choices also. Hope the sweater works out. Did you consider the little Blue dress that Smittie got? Might not be a good cut but the ruffle detailing is lovely and the price is right. On my phone so can't add the Find for it.

I really enjoyed reading about each of your items and your decision-making process.

I don't see a find for the Franco sartos...oh wait, I scrolled up and there it is in Angie's post.

I don't know where you're at with shoes, but I think the FSartos would be a nice change for winter footwear (I seem to remember you wear a lot of black footwear).

YAY. LOVE THAT COAT ON YOU, Chris. The way you styled it last night was sublime.

Those sneakers and the FS loafers in burgundy are a slam dunk.

You had a brilliant NAS. And lots of fun top picks too. Very happy you had success and fun. Nicely done.

I've got a whole bunch of things to go back but also a lot of potential keepers. I hope the turtleneck works for you and that you find the perfect black shoes!

Keeping the Kenneth Cole Nutmeg Coat. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Free People Split Back Turtleneck: The grey one I brought home is too small, as discussed in this post https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....k---keeper Still waiting for one size up in red . Ship date is still TBD even though I ordered it over a week ago. I guess that MIGHT mean they won’t have it.

I’ve been looking for a LBD for about six months, buying, and returning, mostly online at Nordstrom, Macys, and Lord & Taylor. Still have not found “the one”. NAS had a possibility but the fit is way off. It’s a fit and flared style, with ponte fabric so thick that the skirt sticks out like a tutu much more than shown on the model – too MUCH
flare. NEXT.

I need new black low heeled dress shoes for concert performances, and have been searching for a while for these also. I’m bouncing between very classic styles and ones a bit more modern. Tried three from NAS, all no-gos. I have now confirmed that I’v caught that same OLHS that Angie has…Only Low Heels Syndrome, and two of them had 2” heels so NO. (Sudini Bethany an Grey City Ally) The third (Sam Edelman Lorene) was a really pretty suede sling back with a low heel, but the straps fall off my heels unless I make them so tight that my toes jam into the front. Gotta learn to not look at slingbacks. (No finds for these) NEXT.

Franco Sarto Johanna in Dark Burgundy Patent. This was a total impulse buy when I first jumped on the NAS bandwagon this year, and they fit well, look good, and I think they are keepers. I won’t want to wear these fall items until mid September so I’m giving myself until then to make final decisions…no tags will be cut or shoes worn until then.

Ecco Sofft 7 Black sneakers. Really beautiful shoes, very comfortable. The quilting and patent leather toe really take them up a notch, the black ones are “like Chanel” as Angie said. (the metallic find shows the quilting better than the black find) These are a little wider across the ball of the foot than my Kenneth Cole nude sneakers which is good because the KC’s are just a little tight in that area even after multiple wearings. Tried them with bare feet an also with lightweight wool socks just to see how seasonally flexible they are very good. KEEP.

(not NAS put purchased on a day I also visited NAS) :Ugg Sneakers Avelyn Metalic Basket.. Super comfortable. This is my second pair of Uggs and it’s clear that this brand “gets” my feet. I thought the metallic color was more of a bronze until I got them home and realized it’s really more of a blush, and I prefer warmer toned metalics . With my high affinity for color matching I would not wear them much. Also they read as quite sporty, which is a style type I do NOT want to expand within my wardrobe right now. Not as versatile or polished as the Eccos. Happy to have another brand on my short list, but NEXT.

Nordstrom but not NAS: Dr Scholls Peach Suede slip ons; I SO wanted these! I love them and they are perfect for my wardrobe hole of light colored closed toe summer shoes in a dressy espadrilles-with-good-support vibe. Too small and tight, and the heel slipped on the next size up. NEXT. I am getting tired of the hunt on this one and may postpone until next spring.

I'm returning a lot but am glad I didn't sit out as originally planned
