I serged off the neckline and the sleeves so it looked more open and light weight. It was the envy of everyone in the library. I cut off the band at the neck and also cut off the sleeves so it would be cooler to wear on a hot, humid day. It made more of a tank top and the whole shirt loosens up when the bands are cut. I had the same deal with a volunteer event this spring, though the vast majority of the volunteers and clientele of the events are women. Oh well!</p> <p>The modding here does have a fun retro vibe though. There were a few cool things about the 80s among the not-so-cool. The SA who was helping me was wearing this way cool “refashioned” T-shirt. I thought she did it herself and asked if I could take a photo so I could think about trying the same details on a T-shirt of my own. Cut the collar, cut and tie sleeves, knot the hem. After I walked away I noticed that several other SAs we wearing the same style, so I guess my SA was not quite as original as I had thought :-). It was a great example of what can be done with a T-shirt! </p> <p>Have any of you done something like this? I cut off the collar band on a t once but the neckline ended up so big that it fell off my shoulders. </p>
