I did NAS shopping through early October last year, seriously. As I rethought some pieces I'd originally passed on and the items reappeared on the website, I picked them up for well below even their NAS prices. And I am leaving room for 1-2 impulse purchases, items that really grab my eye but would not have thought to put on my shopping list. This makes me feel like I have a plan and I can shop the departments with a goal in mind. If I don't have a list, I get overwhelmed. I know colors and shades that I stay away from in general and can pass by those easily. I also have a basic idea of what styles fit me from past experience and can pass by those quickly too. Anything that's a new style, such as a cape/capelet, I will try a few to see how they fit. I don't expect to find all my fall/winter items during NAS, there's always another round or two of merchandise that will arrive far after NAS has come and gone. And if I don't see something that strikes my fancy this time around, I can find it later. If your budget doesn't allow for much right now, watch the prices post NAS to see if you can catch a deal.
