I congratulate you on not having on sales goggles and refusing to settle! Ultimately, IMHO that is quite a victory plus many more things will be coming out in the next few months.

That's disappointing, after all your efforts.
I actually did drive three hours to my nearest Nordstrom this time for NAS--the first time I've done that. If it's any consolation to you, I was surprised by how many fewer NAS items and sizes were actually available in store to try on, compared to what was online. So even if you'd gone to a store, you might still not have been able to try items and compare sizes as much as you would have wanted to.

That being said, your Hinge scarf is gorgeous! I'm sure you'll get a lot of enjoyment from it.

Angie you're right that size is a lot of it. I often order more than one at a time or re- order. It would be so great to sometime go to the actual sale and pull a rack full of items in several sizes to try so I'd know then and there! And to try on the shoes.
One thing I'm trying to do, though is not just focus on the NAS. That means I might see something that's more my style later on , sale or not. I passed up some AGL flats this spring that were a good color combo for me and now they are not available. Or see what new styles Paul Green adds ( I got " your" navy flats, but since they are not quite as fantastically comfortable as last year's ankle strap, I'm not going to duplicate).

Thanks for the reviews, unfrumped.

Personally, I suspect that sizing is the culprit for some of this. The Louise et Cie oxfords are not wide. At all. They fit me! Try a size down.

Did you size down in the skirt?

I vote don't send the AGL flats back yet. Wear them for a little while at home. The "too shiny" could be a fab wild card.

I'd have liked to see the NYDJs pants on, and yay for the scarves. Fab for you.

It is great that you are not keeping things that did not work. NAS is just the start of the season, and whilst it is great to get a kick start with some discounted purchases, they need to be perfect. I am really impressed that you did not keep the Missoni scarf because itchy is never good (despite how pretty it is). I love the scarf you kept and think this is a beautiful purchase.

Aww, that's kind of a sad report, unfrumped. Too bad more things didn't work. The scarf sounds gorgeous. On the positive side, new non-NAS inventory seems to be arriving, and I'm sure there will be tempting things, albeit not on sale. But sale doesn't mean much if the items don't work.

JAileen, with regard to the Longchamp bag, if you really love the style of it and the quality is good, I would keep it. I think it's nice to splurge on a few nice pieces. A well-made bag especially will last for a long, long time. I bought my first real leather bag a year ago, and I so love the color and feel of it. If the Longchamp bag makes you feel happy in a way that a Chico's bag does not, then please consider keeping it.

Oh well, at least you saved money, right?

I didn't have much luck at NAS either. I was sized out of the jeans that I wanted, and the leather jackets I ordered were all too big in the shoulders (a common problem for me).

I ended up with only one purchase, a top that actually came from the Rack and wasn't part of NAS. :)

Love the Hinge scarf! I really like the style of Hinge pieces.

I bought the butterfly scarf, too. Last year, rather than buy a Missoni scarf, I knit my own.

I've found two leather jackets (one wasn't in NAS, but instead from Macy's). I love both. Should I only keep one, as Smittie suggested, or should I go ahead and keep both? I don't know. Other things I bought: some leggings, booties, and a Longchamp tote. I'm questionng myself on that one, too. It's still a lot of money. Wouldn't a Chico's bag serve the same purpose?

Here is a random review of things I've tried. I am not a card- holder, so missed out on some items and sizes.

2 AGL flats. The cap- toe is not the same as ones I have- more almond toe- anyway has fit issues plus was too shiny for me. The grommet flat-LOVE the look of it , color, bit of metal/ but my feet can't take the narrow-pointy. Hint to self: find something similar in a loafer or other flat.

EF merino T: I ordered XS and it's too small plus WAY shorter than appears on model. Merino + T can be an oxymoron, but I was trying for a better knitwear. Not sure I love it enough to re- order, especially if runs short.

2 scarf tries:
The Hinge silk-- I love this scarf! I don't NEED another scarf. I almost did not order- I felt kind of lemming- like , and it was out of stock for awhile. But it's matte, heavy, drapey , luxurious. I'm not even sure yet how it will work for me, just have to try- it feels like a fresh style direction for some reason. Thanks, Angie!
The Missoni wool- acrylic- I was tempted to keep because of sales goggles, Missoni mystique, colors, but sent back, in case anyone is stalking. It's great colors. Felt itchy on my neck for some reason. Would only be an outdoor scarf for me. I have an acrylic scarf with almost exact colors in a dot- stripe pattern on black, so more subdued, that I love, and is why I tried the Missoni, but then thought, I get 98% of my happy fix from this $10 scarf I already have , so I was trying to be " disciplined"!

Boss Banora blouse: I did NOT order- interested if anyone did. I saw that Boss made this in pretty colors in the past: might watch. Not sure I could get right size; Boss can be too straight for me.

- Halogen pencil skirt just did not fit me right and the gray was not so fab. Worth trying, different ones they do can each fit a little differently.

--NYDJ Pinterest pants also did not " get me"

Louise et metallic oxford- did not fit, maybe wide? but did not try size down. I think too shiny for me also, though the dark color helps.

-PG. bootie: I have great luck with PG. but not the fit on these.
I am trying the Natasha loafer; verdict not yet in.
Also- no Find, but the EF suede wide strap pointy flat--so boo. It looks fab, I tried the " plum", but hurts my toe tip and can't size up. Overall not as comfy as I need. But so cute. I hated to send them back.

So, one (happy) scarf out of all that!
