Karie-Thanks!  I'll have to see which toppers will work against the peplum. Sveta-Thanks!  My bum is my friend for fitting jeans and my nemesis for fitting trousers.  The waist on these trousers is loose (which I look for in trousers otherwise the bum is skin tight).  I'll try one more size up but I think that will be too baggy.  Sometimes when I go up too large I end up with baggy butt. :) Suz-Thanks!  I wonder if that's why peplum hasn't been working for me?  I am not a skirt gal, and maybe it's just a skirt topper.  I'll have to try the top with skinny jeans and see if that works any better.  If it's a skirt only topper it'll have to be returned. Very different from your usual style and a great change. The grey should work well for you.  For myself, personally, I wouldn't wear this top with these pants. It looks as if the length will be better with skirts, for one thing. But also it just feels like a lot of pattern, even though the pattern is very muted. I (personally) would feel "costumed" in it. But I also think it is tough to tell without seeing the pants shortened and with footwear. That might provide some needed structure.  Wearing it with a matching skirt would definitely work, to my mind. The extra skin showing would offer the structure and the length wouldn't be a problem.  I do think wearing a contrasting topper could also break it up enough. But it can sometimes be tough to find the right topper for a peplum.
