Angie, thanks so much for your thoughtful suggestions. I just realized I don't sign out so you couldn't tell I was gone, although I bet you figured it out. I'm going to look at the options more closely when I have more mental space.

Barbara, that makes sense. They aren't on sale, but have you tried Lucky and Slink jeans? Their rises are lower. Melissa McCarthy's jeans might be worth trying too. (I see that a pair of Lucky jeans are on sale).

Barbara Diane, I have started doing an organized try-on of lots of different brands of pants. I'll post about them from time to time but not much progress yet except that BananaR pants in regular sizes all have too high a rise. I'm going to try BR petite sizing but will have to order online due to limitations in what they carry in stores.

Chris987 sorry you have the same challenges. Do you have any suggestions for pants brands that do work for you?

Angie, thanks for the photos and suggestions. I just realized I could collect from my order, and it looks like the leggings aren't NAS afterall. The SA ordered them along with many NAS ones. They are for me to wear in winter, so I picked the longer length. I don't have any summer tops that are long enough for me to feel comfortable wearing the shorter leggings instead of pants.

I'm fairly certain I tried on those jeans; they were soft but went up so high it felt almost like they were going to reach my bra. NYDJ never works for me. The SA ordered them before we spoke.

I have a boring ponte pant that works well, which I will replace if necessary. Some of the Talbots crops and ankle pants fit well, so I'm hoping their longer pants will as well. The ponte knits fit me better than EF's. And I also have 2 pairs of cords in wine and teal that I enjoy busting out in winter.

Thanks again Angie.

Thanks for the reviews Barbara Diane,

I too am short-waisted and I find all NYDJ pants have too high a rise, even the petite sizes. I've tried on a bunch of different ones in the past few years and they all have the same issue so I skip them now.

Kut is a brand I'm hoping to try so I'll keep your reviews in mind. They come in both regular and petite so I'll try both.

I find a lot of pants seem to have a good rise measurement when I'm standing up, but when I sit down the waistband rides up into my ribcage, which is pretty uncomfortable.

Do you mean these leggings, Barbara? They look great.

These jeans are softer - did you true them, perhaps?

Leggings - I bought Sejour leggings. I tried on some thicker ones, but to wear under my long tunic/dress I liked these best. I know I tried the EF and some others.
Pants-I tried on NYDJ, Kut from the Cloth, and others, but they were all too high waisted as I am short waisted. I like my pants to hit at my waist, and not be too stiff.
