I have the Pendleton from last year’s NAS. It is indeed impeccable and warm. The wool has a nice feel and I found it perfect for both cold, dry days and times when there might be sleet, rain or snow. I loved having water resistant wool in a hooded form factor. The coat allows for layering underneath.

Like the gray blue Barbour, too. So many options...

KikiG, I will help you on a separate thread. I have some ideas.

Staysfit, I live in a very rainy city - and am outside a lot. Good quality wool works somewhat like water off a ducks back, IYKWIM.

KikiG, I hope someone answers your question. If not, you may want to repost it as a separate thread.

I am leaning towards the Pendleton given Angies endorsement. I have never tried anything made of wool in the rain, so it will be an experiment, but maybe worth it at the sale price. I like both the style and color.

I would love a puffer, sporty rather than dressy (it would be more active wear for outdoor adventures than a city coat for me in my climate.)

I usually wear a small in most things, a medium in coats (boobs)

But I'm not tall, 5'1," I'm busty for my height (34DD) and I just look ROUND like an Ewok in puffers. Like, Mrs. Santa round. Like, put a puffer on a Snow Woman, round. All I want is a reasonably flattering puffer for a short human with boobs. And not look round. I will happily look oval, just not round. Anyone have any suggestions?

I originally bought a different Patagonia waterproof insulated coat, the Tres. It was down and would have been much warmer, but I returned it because the sleeves were incredibly long.

I saw it online, but not on Patagonia’s site. It may have been discontinued.

@Staysfit. My arms are shorter than average, and I find the Vosque arms long on me. I saw that there were other Patagonia coats in the sale, including a couple of lighterweight water-resistant mini puffers. I really needed something impermeable for late winter downpours in the Northeast, which is why I invested in the Vosque (actually an Xmas present from my spouse, now that I remember!) and it's perfect for that. I am a 6 and took the Medium. I've used the inside puffer as an underlayer beneath a trench, too, and that works perfectly on dry days (as Nemosmom and others use their Uniqlo liners). As I said, I'm very happy with it: it's even come on this mountain trip with me this summer, though I'm not sure it will be necessary!

The boots are my favourite of all this. No surprise I guess, they’re snakeskin and flat! Really similar to my new olive snakeskin boots which I happened to wear to work today.
The reversible bomber is also really nice. Not living in your climate I can’t really comment on coats.

Angie, yes, that’s the TNF rain jacket. I haven’t had any issues with the zipper and it has seen frequent use.

Last year I got a rain jacket like what you are looking for at the sale. It is a bit longer on me than on the model but this would probably be shorter than you want (and not on sale anyway.)

Quick chime in - I saw a lot of these items yesterday, and they look good! Pendleton is AMAZING.

Kept touching to a minimum and tried nothing on so I cannot assure you about fit and fabric feeling.

Which TNF raincoat are you talking about, Staysfit? This one? A client tried this one on with her DD yesterday in her own app, and said the zipper was a bit fussy, but good nonetheless. Thanks for your positive review about it too!

Oh, boy, those boots look gorgeous. Nice to hear your reviews, too! Which sports bras did you choose? I'm considering the two in Finds. I have the Zella already in black and like it, though I do generally prefer sports bras with removable pads. My big thing for Pilates is to have a bra that doesn't have a clasp in back, because it hurts when doing exercises with my back on the floor (rolling like a ball, etc.).

I love the North Face Thermoball coat. I bought one several years ago in NAS and have gotten a ton of use out of it. I love navy, but really can’t justify another one. By that I mean I can’t find any space in the closet.

ETA: I have the Vosque. It is Patagonia and very well made. I took it to Turkey in winter several years ago. It wasn’t quite warm enough (we were outdoors for hours at a time), but the shell was waterproof, and the hood was adjustable and fit very well. For warmth I just layered up, wearing everything I had.

Drizzly/chilly-but-not-freezing weather is so tricky to dress for. I end up layering a thin uniqlo puffer under my rain jacket (gear) or waxed jacket; not perfect but it's lighter than my thick puffer and can withstand the rain The waxed one not as much... A one-and-done jacket for those conditions would be perfect!

Those look like great coats. I hear you on black. There are more color options in coats nowadays, but not those. The booties look fab and especially in the reptile. I am “ going flat” also, not going to be able to wear any kind of tapered toe like these anymore.
Reversible bomber! I have always loved the idea of reversible clothing items/ colors. Hard to find.

I like those Aquatalia boots, too!

Not in NAS, but as a suggestion for the kind of above-freezing-but-wet-and-chilly coat you describe, I got this "Vosque" 3-in-1 from Northface last year for the same purpose and adore it. It really does the trick.

My NAS wish list is small. I am replacing my Hanky Panky undies since they’re on sale. I am buying two new sports bras and some leggings for my Pilates/Yoga practice. I am looking towards flatter heels and like the fit and durability of Aquatalia, so I found a pair of booties I like. (Below).

Last year I purchased a Miss Metro puffer from NAS. I LOVE it! Soft, warm, comfy, well made, and it looks nice. I also have the lighter weight TNF puffer shown below from NAS two years ago. Finally, there is a light weight TNF Rissy II rain jacket which I also recommend. I purchased it locally, on sale, but it is available this year at NAS in black, taupe green and pink. I don’t see it among Angies suggestions, but it’s nice as a windbreaker and it is water resistant, not water proof.

I hoped to find an insulated rain parka to replace one that I have used for many years in transitional weather when it is just above freezing or in the 30’s F, and there is sleet, freezing rain or light snow. My puffers are too heavy, and my trenches too light. The two coats I found in the sale, the Pendleton and the Bernardo seem closest to what I might need, but each has a problem. One is wool, and the other is not a color I wear (black). Finally, I think I am going to try this bomber.....
